PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing. \nABOUT OUR TEAM\nWe believe our mission to end homelessness can be achieved by providing permanent housing and highly individualized supportive services. We are committed to improving the quality of our services by creating a diverse work environment for the community at large.\nABOUT THE JOB\nAs part of theInterim Housing team, the Cook helps create a welcoming, homelike environment and nutritious meals for our guests. They work alongside a team of kitchen and case management staff to ensure that all PATH Interim Housing guests receive three meals each day and snacks/refreshments throughout the day as needed\nPosition Responsibilities include: \nProvide all guests with a home-like environment for the duration of their stay in PATH Interim Housing.\nPromote and follow interim housing established values, guidelines, and rules.\nEnsure that guests' meals are served at the established times and support other kitchen staff as required.\nCook large quantities of food with staggered cooking, heating, baking, etc.\nPrepare food and beverages according to standardized recipes, production sheets, and menus.\nOrganize duties so that foods are prepared for service at appropriate times and within acceptable temperature ranges.\nFollow therapeutic menu sheets and meal forms.\nSet up and serve on tray line.\nSet up a portable steam table and serve in the dining room.\nOperate all electric, gas, and steam equipment properly.\nMaintain equipment in proper sanitary and operating condition.\nAdhere to work/time schedules.\nReceive, verify, and put stock away.\nFollow proper cleaning procedures as per schedules.\nMaintain sanitary conditions during all food preparation and delivery by following correct infection control procedures and by thoroughly cleaning work areas and equipment in the department, including walls and floors.\nOversee meal preparation in the absence of the chef and Lead Cook.\nRequest, store, label, rotate, and dispose of all food and supply items, perishable and nonperishable.\nPrepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance \nWHAT YOU BRING\nWe’re looking for candidates with:\nAnalytical Skills and Attention to Detail: Gather and interpret data, identifying trends, patterns, and insights to inform decision-making.
