This includes ensuring the performance, availability, reliability and recoverability of EPCOR’s access control, intrusion detection and video surveillance systems\nWe welcome applications from internal and external candidates.\nWhat you’d be responsible for\nManagingthe operation, maintenance, and lifecycle of EPCOR's physical security systems, ensuring reliability, availability, and compliance with business and regulatory requirements.\nDevelopingannual plans, budgets, resource allocations, and work priorities to support the effective delivery of physical security technology services.\nLeadingthe implementation, upgrade, integration, patching, and replacement of physical security systems and supporting infrastructure.\nEnsuringsystems are maintained in accordance with established standards, governance processes, documentation requirements, and security controls.\nMonitoringsystem performance and service levels, leading incident response, problem resolution, and continuous improvement activities.\nManagingvendor relationships, support agreements, inventory, warranty claims, invoicing, and service performance to meet operational and financial objectives.\nPartneringwith Physical Security Operations, IT Operations, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to support operational and project requirements.\nManagingphysical security technology projects and contributingsubject matter expertise to enterprise initiatives.\nBuildingand developinga high-performing team through recruitment, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and workforce development.\nMaintainingstrong stakeholder relationships to understand business needs, manage service expectations, and provide technical leadership for enterprise initiatives and decision-making.\nProvidingand maintaining24x7 on-call Physical Security Infrastructure support to ensure operational readiness and response capability.\nMaintainingcompliance with regulatory, audit, health and safety, and Alberta Reliability Standards Critical Infrastructure Protection (ARS CIP) requirements.\nSupporting project design, delivery, and operational activities during periods of increased workload.\nManagingphysical security system inventory, sparing strategies, warranty claims, invoicing, and lifecycle replacement planning to support operational continuity, emergency preparedness, and budget management.\nSupportingproject design, delivery, operational surge requirements, and providing subject matter expertise to stakeholders, leadership, and enterprise decision-making processes.\nWhat’s required to be successful\nA diploma or degree in Business, Engineering or Computer Scienceis required\n7+ years of experience in Physical Security System Operations\nCertification in Physical Security hardware and systems such as C-Cure, Genetec, and Key Management Systems isconsidered an asset\n5+ years of experience in progressive leadership roles, with a demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing technical teams\nExperience in a utility environment is preferred\nPrior work with EPCOR would be considered an asset\nKnowledge of EPCOR’s organizational structure and Policies would be an asset\nSecurity industry background, knowledge, tools, techniques and applications\nDemonstrated discretion relating to confidentiality\nAbility to develop processes, procedures and workflows\nAbility to manage major incidents\nPlanning and financial (budgeting, forecasting, analysis) skills\nKnowledge of project execution and project management experience is considered an asset\nDemonstrated a strong ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, effectively configuring, updating, and supporting software and cloud-based applications.\nAble to understand and read blueprints and schematic drawings\nTechnical knowledge or experience with Access Control Systems, CCTV/Intrusion Detection systems and Key Management systems including underlying infrastructure\nRecognize the risks and impacts of change within EPCOR’s physical security infrastructure environment\nDemonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.) and MS SharePoint\nARS CIP knowledge and experience would be considered an asset\nAs the successful candidate, you are detail-oriented and take a systematic approach to managing physical security systems, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational reliability. You communicate clearly and confidently with technical teams, vendors, business partners, and leadership, translating complex issues into practical recommendations and solutions. Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills allow you to effectively diagnose system issues, identify root causes, assess risks, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
