You will be responsible for guiding the mechanical design of power electronics enclosures, integrating inverter systems into larger platforms, and ensuring robust solutions for thermal performance and environmental protection.\nYou will work closely with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to deliver systems that are not only high-performance but also manufacturable, serviceable, and reliable in the field\nRequirements\nLead and develop a team of 5-10 mechanical engineers \nOwn the mechanical design of power electronics enclosures and inverter packaging \nDrive system-level mechanical integration of inverter platforms into multi-megawatt (~5 MW) energy systems \nDesign and optimize cooling solutions (air, liquid, hybrid) for high-power electronics \nDefine strategies for environmental protection (IP-rated enclosures, sealing, corrosion resistance, etc.) \nCollaborate cross-functionally with electrical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless system integration \nGuide design tradeoffs across thermal performance, structural integrity, cost, and manufacturability \nLead design reviews, prototyping, and validation testing (thermal, environmental, mechanical) \nEnsure designs meet reliability, safety, and regulatory requirements \nMentor engineers and build strong technical capability within the team \nTake ownership of system performance in real-world operating conditions \nQualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) \n7+ years of experience in mechanical design for complex electromechanical systems \n2+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams \nStrong expertise in: Enclosure design for industrial or outdoor systems \n Thermal management of power electronics \n Mechanical integration of complex systems \n\nExperience working with high-power systems (power electronics, industrial, energy, or similar) \nKnowledge of environmental protection design (IP ratings, sealing, materials, coatings) \nFamiliarity with manufacturing processes (sheet metal, welding, machining, assembly) \nExperience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks or similar) and mechanical simulation tools \nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work at both system and component levels \nEffective communicator with cross-functional collaboration experience \nBenefits\n401(k) with company matching\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\nDisability and life insurance\nFlexible Spending Account (FSA)\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\nPaid Time Off (PTO)\nTuition reimbursement\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nEPC Power is an equal opportunity employer.
