You will be responsible not only for guiding engineers, but for driving system-level design decisions and ensuring that our products perform reliably in the field.\nYou will own the development of power converter platforms and their integration into multi-megawatt systems (~5 MW scale), working across hardware, controls, and system integration disciplines.\nRequirements\nLead and develop a team of 10-15 electrical engineers working on power converter design and integration\nDrive the design and architecture of grid-connected inverter systems at the multi-megawatt scale\nEnsure successful integration of inverter platforms into larger systems (BESS, solar plants, data centers)\nProvide technical leadership in power electronics, including converter design, PCB implementation, controls, protection, and system-level electrical integration (fusing, cabling, grounding, and interconnects)\nCollaborate cross-functionally with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and field engineering teams\nGuide engineering tradeoffs with a focus on performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability\nLead design reviews, verification & validation efforts (DVT), and product release processes, ensuring designs are thoroughly tested, meet requirements, and perform reliably under real-world operating conditions\nMentor engineers and elevate the technical capabilities of the team\nQualifications\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (PhD a plus)\n8+ years of experience in power electronics or related field\n3+ years of experience leading engineering teams or technical groups\nStrong expertise in: Power converter design (DC/AC, DC/DC, inverter systems)\n Medium-voltage and high-power applications\n Grid-connected systems and standards\n PCB design and layout considerations for high-power/high-frequency systems\n Balance-of-system design including protection, cabling, grounding, and interconnects\n\nExperience designing or integrating megawatt-scale power systems\nExperience leading or overseeing design validation testing (DVT), system test plans, and failure/root-cause analysis\nSolid understanding of system-level design, including controls, thermal, and protection considerations\nExperience with applications such as energy storage, solar PV, or grid infrastructure\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on engineering mindset\nAbility to communicate clearly and work effectively across disciplines\nBenefits\n401(k) with company matching\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\nDisability and life insurance\nFlexible Spending Account (FSA)\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\nPaid Time Off (PTO)\nTuition reimbursement\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nEPC Power is an equal opportunity employer.
