lab (Laboratory of Systems Biology and Genetics) at the Faculty of Life Sciences is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to strengthen its team.\nThe central research focus of the Laboratory of Systems Biology and Genetics (LSBG) is to understand genome organization, regulation, and variation and is broadly partitioned according to three major research pillars:\nAdipo - in the “Adipo” pillar, we are characterizing the regulatory mechanisms driving mesenchymal stromal cell heterogeneity and function in adipose biology and other metabolically relevant processes.\nGeno - In the “Geno” pillar, we are examining how variation in the regulatory code affects molecular and organismal diversity.\nTechno - in the “Techo” pillar, we are developing novel microfluidic, high-throughput sequencing, single cell omic, and computational approaches, which are used to address biological questions in the other two pillars.\nYour Mission\nEnsure smooth and safe daily lab operations while providing technical support to researchers and students across molecular biology, cell culture, and microfluidics workflows.\nMain duties and responsibilities\nSupport of the management of the laboratoryOrdering lab supplies and consumables\nKeeping and updating inventories of chemicals and biologicals\nMaintenance of instruments\nPreparation of common solutions for the lab\nKeeping a well-maintained lab with team members\n\nSupervise good laboratory practices and biosafety rules\nSupport researchers and students in their experimentsConventional molecular biology techniques (PCR, RT-PCR, Western)\nCell culture\nLibrary preparation for sequencing\nImmunofluorescence staining and flow cytometry\nMicrofluidics chip fabrication\nRunning experiments with different microfluidic set-ups\n\nWriting reports and communicating results\nParticipation in the planning of projects together with team members\nParticipation in the development and validation of new protocols and techniques\nYour Profile\nDiploma of the lab technician school (CFC or ECL) or equivalent, or bachelor degree in a relevant discipline.\nExperience working with library preparation and microfluidic set-ups.\nStrong spoken and written competency in English and French.\nHighly organized and interactive personality.\nDetail-oriented, able to multitask and perform precise work, as well as record and
