Its platform integrates implantable neural interfaces, adaptive algorithms, and assistive devices to translate neural intent into real-world action. The company’s initial focus is stroke-related motor impairment, with expansion in cognitive decline and other neurological disorders, focusing on long-term solutions for the growing aging population.\nThe Role\nWe’re looking for a Staff Mechanical Engineer to build out our first in-house pilot manufacturing line for our wearable robotic exoskeleton, supporting the transition from prototype through design verification and early clinical production.\nReporting to the Robotics Manager, you’ll design and build the fixtures, tooling, test setups, workstations, and processes needed to assemble and test the exoskeleton reliably and repeatedly. You’ll work closely with the engineering team to translate evolving prototypes into practical, repeatable manufacturing processes.\nThis is a highly hands-on role for someone who can move between mechanical design and the manufacturing floor - designing what’s needed, building it, testing it, and iterating as the pilot line takes shape.\nLocation\nThis role is based out of the San Francisco Bay Area, and expected to work on site from our Alameda Headquarters 4-5x a week.\nWhat You’ll Do\nBuild and bring up our first in-house pilot assembly line, including equipment, workstations, tooling, and test setups.\n\nTranslate engineering prototypes and assembly/test methods into repeatable manufacturing processes for DVT and early clinical builds.\n\nAdapt and productionize engineering fixtures and tooling for pilot manufacturing, developing additional manufacturing tooling as needed.\n\nPartner with R&D to resolve manufacturability, assembly, and testability issues as designs evolve.\n\nOwn pilot manufacturing readiness, documentation, and supplier coordination to ensure units are built reliably and on schedule.\n\nSupport manufacturing risk management and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) as the line matures toward higher-volume production.\n\nQualifications\n7+ years of mechanical and/or manufacturing engineering experience, with strong hands-on experience in mechanical design, CAD, fixtures, tooling, and assembly/test processes.\n\nExperience taking hardware from prototype into pilot or low-volume production, including establishing repeatable manufacturing processes.\n\nExperience working with complex electromechanical systems and partnering closely with R&D through DVT and early production builds.\n\nDemonstrated ability to build processes and solve problems hands-on in an early-stage or similarly ambiguous environment.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nMedical device experience, including Class II/III devices and ISO 13485/FDA-regulated environments.\n\nExperience with DFM, design transfer, manufacturing documentation, and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).\n\nExperience with wearable robotics, mechatronics, or similarly complex electromechanical products.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand and move throughout a lab/production floor for extended periods; frequent use of hands for fine-motor assembly tasks and hand tools; occasional lifting/carrying of up to 25 lbs; visual acuity sufficient for detailed assembly and inspection work, including under magnification when required.\nHow We Work\nWe are intentional. We prioritize and are thoughtful about how we use others’ time.\n\nWe care for others. We prioritize safety both for patients and one another.\n\nWe own outcomes, not just tasks. Our work demands the highest standards because it impacts real patients and real lives.\n\nHumility is a strength. We are honest about what we know and what we don’t know. Getting it right matters more than being right.\n\nBenefits\nFull-time employees are eligible for the following benefits:\nCompetitive base salary with equity\n\n100% of healthcare coverage for you and your dependents\n\nGenerous vacation policy\n\nPaid parental leave\n\nWork from our beautiful waterfront office in Alameda, CA, with access to collaborative spaces and labs.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4310,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":7,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity","Generous vacation","Parental leave"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Neurotech & Neuromodulation"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-11T04:42:08Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"H-1B filings in 12 months: 7","filings_12m":7,"filings_prev_12m":0,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":212500,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-29T16:27:21+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":47,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.791,"p_room":0.6,"age_days":68,"expected_fill_days":70,"reasons":["conf:2","win:late","crowd:"],"computed_at":"2026-11-04T06:34:25Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":200000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/epianeuro-senior-manufacturing-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/epianeuro-senior-manufacturing-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-11-04T19:32:08Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":30065,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-05T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":673459},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=673459"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fepianeuro-senior-manufacturing-engineer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fepianeuro-senior-manufacturing-engineer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fepianeuro-senior-manufacturing-engineer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/epianeuro-senior-manufacturing-engineer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fepianeuro-senior-manufacturing-engineer"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":710858}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"epianeuro.com","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":710858},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
