We bridge connections for licensees and our own internal game teams to online services. This allows games like Fortnite to utilize a combination of platform online services as well as Epic’s own online services to build cross-platform online features. Login, parties, voice chat, matchmaking, purchasing, cloud storage, and analytics are just a few examples of online features that our Online Game Services team helps games utilize.\nFRONTEND PROGRAMMER INTERN\nWhat You'll Do\nThe Social Web team builds the interfaces players use to connect with other players across Epic's ecosystem, including Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys. As an intern on the team, you'll ship real features that touch millions of players, gaining hands-on experience with production web development while being mentored through the full lifecycle of a feature, from design to deployment.\nIn this role, you will\nBuild and ship features using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, working directly in our production codebase\nPartner with senior engineers to design and implement UI components and user flows for the social overlay experience\nDebug issues and contribute fixes across the front end, with guidance from your team\nParticipate in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback, to build strong engineering habits\nTake ownership of a well-scoped project or feature over the course of your internship, from planning through to shipping\nWhat we're looking for\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field\nCoursework or project experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript\nFamiliarity with React or another modern front-end framework\nA strong interest in distributed systems\nThis internship has a flexible start date in 2027.
