This role is key to ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of our database infrastructure, while continuously driving automation and operational efficiency.\nThis is a full-time, permanent hybrid position offering the perfect balance of three days in the office and two days working from home.\nWhat you will be doing:\nInstall, configure, and maintain relational Database environments in alignment with industry best practices and organizational standards.\n\nOptimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and query optimization; manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.\n\nImplement and enforce robust security controls, including access management, encryption, and auditing, to safeguard sensitive data.\n\nPrioritize and propose automated solutions over manual controls as a mandatory practice, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and reduced operational risk.\n\nCollaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to design and implement scalable, high-performance database solutions.\n\nMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve database issues to ensure high availability, reliability, and minimal downtime.\n\nSupport deployment activities and provide production support for enterprise-scale systems, including incident response and root cause analysis.\n\nDrive automation initiatives to streamline routine database administration tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, or other industry-standard tools.\n\nEnsure compliance with data governance frameworks, security policies, and internal standards, including documentation and audit readiness\n\nWillingness to participate in on-call rotations and support production incident management as part of a shared responsibility model.\n\nWhat you will likely bring:\n3-5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA and/or Developer in enterprise environments.\n\nAdvanced proficiency in T-SQL, including complex query development, performance tuning, and indexing strategies.\n\nDeep understanding of SQL Server architecture, internals, and high availability solutions such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups, clustering, and replication.\n\nStrong scripting skills in PowerShell for automation, monitoring, and administrative task optimization.\n\nExperience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is a plus.\n\nPreferred Skills:\nAbility to adopt and integrate automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Python to enhance operational efficiency and consistency.\n\nExposure to any major cloud platforms preferably Microsoft Azure.\n\nFamiliarity with modern monitoring and observability tools, such as Datadog, SolarWinds, or equivalent platforms.\n\nAbout Epicor\nAt Epicor, we’re truly a team.
