Its work includes foundational AI research, large-scale data analysis, collaborative development of practical solutions, and AI education. Alongside research, the Labs leads the development of Epiq’s flagship AI platform-the foundation for AI-powered workflows across litigation, compliance, antitrust, and other complex legal and corporate matters.\nAbout the Role\nAs a Forward-Deployed Legal Engineer, you’ll make our platform work inside real legal teams. You’ll lead each client from proof-of-concept (POC) kickoff to go-live: configuring legal workflows the way the client’s lawyers work, training the people who use them, and proving value against agreed success criteria.\nYou’ll work closely with associates and review teams, partner with our Legal Solutions Engineer, Customer Success Managers, and Engineering, and turn what you learn in the field into product direction. You’ll work from our New York office and serve clients in every region, including EMEA and APAC.\nWhat You’ll Do\nPOC Delivery: Run POCs against agreed success criteria and keep each one on scope and on schedule.\nWorkflow Configuration: Build legal workflows and playbooks that reflect how each client’s lawyers actually work, ready before the client’s first matter.\nLegal Expertise: Serve as the legal expert in each engagement, applying the law and procedure that govern the client’s work, analyzing its documents, and advising on whether an output is defensible.\nDeployment: Take each client from POC to go-live, working with Engineering on integrations.\nUser Training: Train associates, review teams, and other day-to-day users during each POC.\nIssue Resolution: Spot client issues early and resolve them with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success Managers.\nClean Handoffs: Take over the use case, success criteria, stakeholders, data, and timeline at POC kickoff; hand each account to a Customer Success Manager at go-live and stay available for legal workflow questions.\n Voice of the Client: Gather and organize client feedback, and turn it into use cases and user stories that shape the product roadmap.\nWhat You Bring\nA US JD, or a US LLM with a foreign law degree, and active or prior US bar membership.\n2-8+ years of legal practice, ideally in litigation.
