You will be responsible for driving new product introductions, localization projects, cost reduction initiatives, product life-cycle management, and engineering support to manufacturing operations.\nThe role requires close collaboration with global engineering teams, sourcing, quality, operations, suppliers, and customer centres to ensure products meet Epiroc's standards for safety, quality, performance, and profitability. You will lead a team of engineers and play a key role in defining engineering strategy, industrialization roadmaps, and business growth opportunities.\nJob Responsibility-\nLead engineering team for design, development, localization, and industrialization of hydraulic breakers and attachments. \nOwn engineering deliverables for New Product Development (NPD), localization projects. \nDevelop business cases and investment applications for product board approvals. \nDrive product localization initiatives to improve competitiveness, reduce cost, and strengthen supply chain resilience. \nCoordinate with global Product Companies and engineering centres for product knowledge transfer and technical alignment. \nEstablish engineering processes, standards, and best practices to support sustainable growth. \nLead cross-functional project execution involving sourcing, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, service, and aftermarket. \nManage engineering changes through PLM systems and ensure smooth implementation in production. \nDrive value engineering and cost reduction programs while maintaining product performance and reliability. \nSupport supplier selection, capability assessment, technical reviews, RFQ preparation, and supplier development activities. \nDefine validation strategies, endurance testing requirements, and qualification criteria for localized products. \nMonitor warranty trends, field performance, and customer feedback to identify product improvement opportunities. \nEnsure successful SOP (Start of Production) and industrialization of new products. \nCoach, mentor, and develop engineering talent while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. \nSupport strategic business initiatives related to growth, margin improvement, and operational excellence. \nInterface with OEM customers and customer centres to understand market requirements and deliver engineering solutions.\nRequired Competencies:\nStrong project management and execution capabilities.\nStrong knowledge of hydraulic breakers, hydraulic systems, and attachment products.\nExpertise in product localization and industrialization.\nStrong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).\nExperience with supplier development, fabrication, machining, casting, forging, and heat treatment processes.\nStrong understanding of validation, testing, reliability, and warranty management.\nKnowledge of product lifecycle management and engineering change management.\nStrong people leadership and coaching skills.\nAbility to develop engineering strategy aligned with business objectives.\nExperience in managing cross-functional and global stakeholder networks.\nCommercial understanding of product profitability, business cases, investment decisions, and margin improvement.\nPLM Systems: Windchill, Teamcenter or equivalent.\nERP Systems: SAP, M3, BPCS or equivalent.\nCAD Platforms: Creo, SolidWorks or equivalent.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and presentation skills.\nStrategic thinking and decision-making capability.\nAbility to influence stakeholders without direct authority.\nCustomer-focused and results-oriented mindset.\nStrong collaboration skills across cultures and geographies.\nExperience and Education Qualification:\nMinimum 14-16 years of experience in Product Development, Engineering, Localization, or Manufacturing Engineering. \nExperience in mining, construction equipment, heavy machinery, industrial equipment, hydraulics, or related industries. \nProven experience in: \nProduct localization and industrialization.\nNew Product Development (NPD).\nCost reduction and value engineering.\nSupplier development and technical sourcing.\nProject management and cross-functional leadership.\nExperience working with global engineering organizations is preferred.\nME/ M. Tech in Mechanical engineering or related specialization preferred. \nAdditional qualifications in Project Management, Business Management, or Leadership Development Programs will be advantageous\nOther Requirements:\nOn-time delivery of localization and NPD projects. \nAchievement of cost reduction and competitiveness targets. \nSuccessful product industrialization and launch. \nTeam capability development and engagement. \nImproved product quality and customer satisfaction.\n\nIt all starts with people.
