This role is integral to driving value engineering initiatives that enhance product design, improve cost efficiency, and maintain the high quality and reliability standards that define our industry leadership.\nAbout the Role\nAs a Project Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the PSD Engineering team, Divisional Engineers, and Aftermarket Engineering teams to execute Value Analysis (VA) and Value Engineering (VE) tasks. You will be responsible for identifying and implementing cost-saving measures that do not compromise on functionality or quality. Your efforts will directly support the company’s objectives regarding innovation, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct comprehensive value analysis and value engineering studies on existing and new products.\nIdentify and evaluate cost optimization opportunities within product designs and manufacturing processes.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, and quality assurance to develop and implement value improvement strategies.\nEvaluate product and part functionality to ensure alignment with customer needs while optimizing costs.\nPrepare and present detailed reports on value engineering findings to steering committees and key stakeholders.\nPerform cost-benefit analyses to guide decision-making and support project justification.\nRecommend design modifications and process improvements to enhance overall product value and performance.\nTrack progress and outcomes of value engineering projects, providing transparent communication and updates.\nProvide training and mentorship to team members on value engineering principles and best practices.\nCoordinate with division engineers and cross-functional teams to fully realize value optimization potentials.\nManage and utilize Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems in support of engineering release processes.\nEnsure strict compliance with operating procedures, ISO standards, and Epiroc’s business code of practice, maintaining project documentation meticulously.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives aimed at upgrading internal processes.\nFoster effective communication with customers and stakeholders, gathering feedback and implementing improvements to sustain strong relationships.\nLead efforts to enhance team competencies in line with evolving industry trends and technological advancements.\nRequired Qualifications and Competences\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.\nMinimum of 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in value analysis and value engineering.\nProven expertise with value engineering methodologies and cost management practices.\nProfessional certification in value engineering will be considered an advantage.\nStrong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to apply these in a practical, business-oriented context.\nExperience using value analysis tools and familiarity with product lifecycle management systems.\nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset and openness to constructive feedback.\nSelf-motivated, energetic, goal-oriented, flexible, and approachable professional capable of working independently and collaboratively.\nWhy Join Us?\nThis position presents a unique opportunity to engage with challenging engineering projects that directly influence business success and customer satisfaction.
