Duties require electrical and mechanical knowledge as well as a good IT network understanding. Automation technicians monitor and perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs. The technicians troubleshoots issues and determine if the problem is mechanical, electrical or from the computer systems controlling the process, as well as determine appropriate corrective measures.\nThe automation technician possesses excellent technical skills and is able to represent Epiroc in a professional and ethical manner while working under very little supervision. Extensive travel to customer sites throughout Canada may be required.\nWork Type:\nOnsite\nShift Timings/Location:\nRotational shifts: 7 days on, 7 days off - 12 hour shifts OR 14 days on, 14 days off - 12 hour shifts\nResponsibilities:\nService and commissioning of Epiroc products.\nPerform audits and preventive maintenance on Epiroc products.\nTroubleshooting and problem-solving.\nDocument and report technical product issues.\nEstablish a good working relationship with customers.\nEstablish a good working relationship with your co-workers.\nCreating and updating daily service reports.\nWork with customers operations departments to ensure levels are set up to meet the meet their production timelines.\nWork with customers’ mobile planning department to ensure automation preventative maintenance (PM) and repairs are conducted in conjunction with mechanical PM’s schedule.\nActively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.\nWork within and promote a supportive and innovative team culture.\nPerform other relevant tasks and duties as assigned by the manager.\nExperience:\nMinimum five (5) years of relevant work experience within the mining industry is an asset.\nExperience in automation.\nKnowledge/Education:\nInterprovincial Red Seal Electrician or Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic certification is an asset.\nElectronics or electrical engineering technician or technologist diploma.\nStrong electronics and instrumentation knowledge.\nPossess a valid vehicle driver’s licence.\nStrong knowledge of Epiroc’s services and products is an asset.\nSkills and Abilities:\nProven and motivated self-starter who is driven to achieve client satisfaction targets and is able to work independently and in a team environment to meet tight deadlines.\nExcellent computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, Microsoft Exchange, etc.\nA strong understanding of network infrastructures.\nTime management skills.\nStrong numerical ability and reasoning skills.\nMechanically inclined.\nExcellent communication skills both verbal and written.\nStrong attention to detail.\nDemonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills.\nWillingness to travel and to go on site.\nFluent in both English and French would be is an asset.\nThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the job.
