In this role, you will work closely with a talented engineering team to design & analyze cutting edge electronic and mechanical assemblies to survive in harsh environments. Ideal candidates will have experience following their designs / analyses through its complete lifecycle from conceptualization through test and verification. \nResponsibilities: \nDesign / analyze structures for mounting RF phased arrays and other electronic packages \nPerform structural finite element analysis (FEA) on complex mechanical structures and electronic assemblies for a range of solution and load types, including static, modal, and structural dynamics (vibration and shock). \nBuild finite element models and perform hand calculations to verify structural integrity across Epirus’s product lines. \nProvide mentoring and serve as mechanical design / analyst lead on product design teams \nCollaborate with a cross-functional team to develop requirements, design, and build electromechanical systems that survive harsh environments encountered during operation and transport \nBasic Qualifications: \nBS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural or similar engineering field. \n8+ years of experience in structural/stress design & analysis of metallic structures. \nExpert level comfort with Finite Element Analysis and structural hand calculations. \nExperience with structural analysis and pre/post processing software packages such as Nastran, FEMAP, Ansys, Patran or equivalent. \nExperience analyzing systems under static loading, shock, and vibrational environments including random vibration. \nExperience with CAD and practical application of GD&T. \nExperience with structural test and qualification of mechanical systems. \nPreferred Skills and Experience: \nExperience performing stress analysis of electronic systems such as circuit card assemblies. \nExperience designing / analyzing actuated mechanical systems including azimuth and elevation pointing mechanisms. \nGood written and oral communication skills \nCollaborative; capable of working across all levels of the organization \nOrganized; comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment \nFamiliarity with MIL-STD-810 and associated harsh environmental considerations \nITAR REQUIREMENTS: \nTo conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
