You will serve as a key partner to Sales, Operations, Finance, HR, and IT leadership to deliver innovative solutions that support business growth and operational efficiency.\nYour Impact\nThe essential functions of this position include:\nSales & Business Development\nConduct customer and prospect meetings to present Materials Management service offerings and strengthen customer relationships.\nPartner with Sales teams to support business development efforts and strategic customer opportunities.\nDevelop solutions and responses for RFP opportunities.\nReview and approve RFP responses, pricing models, statements of work, and service proposals.\nProvide cost inputs and operational assumptions to support opportunity pricing and profitability analysis.\nPartner with Marketing to develop and maintain sales collateral and promote Materials Management capabilities.\nSupport strategic customer presentations and executive-level business reviews.\nFinancial & Resource Management\nMaintain overall P&L responsibility for all materials management related services\nDevelop annual operating plans, department budgets, and financial forecasts.\nMonitor business performance and implement corrective actions to achieve revenue, margin, and expense objectives.\nForecast workload and resource requirements across Configuration, Warehouse, Inventory, and Disposition teams.\nDirect workforce planning efforts to ensure staffing aligns with customer demand, seasonal fluctuations, and business growth.\nOversee hiring plans, requisitions, organizational design, and talent development initiatives.\nForecast facility capacity requirements and determine utilization of third-party logistics (3PL) providers as needed.\nOversee team reviewing material purchases and management of excess and obsolete inventory.\nReview and approve significant customer billings, change orders, and operational expenditures.\nEnsure freight audits are completed and transportation costs are accurately captured and reported.\nOperations Leadership\nProvide executive oversight of Configuration, Warehouse Operations, Inventory Management, and Disposition services locally to MN.\nEnsure daily operational performance meets established productivity, quality, and customer service objectives.\nOversee inventory management programs, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory accuracy.\nEstablish operational performance metrics and reporting processes to measure effectiveness and efficiency.\nLead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, automation, quality assurance, and process standardization.\nEnsure compliance with customer service-level agreements (SLAs), contractual obligations, and internal operating procedures.\nPartner with cross-functional teams to optimize system configurations, workflow design, and operational processes.\nOwn and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans for Materials Management operations.\nLead facility expansion, consolidation, and relocation initiatives as required.\nEnsure regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and operational governance standards are maintained across all facilities.\nVendor & Customer Management\nServe as the executive escalation point for customer operational issues and service concerns.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers and business partners.\nOversee relationships with parcel, LTL, freight, warehouse, recycling, and remarketing vendors.\nLead contract negotiations with transportation and logistics providers, including FedEx, UPS, and other strategic partners.\nServe as the primary executive contact for customer audits related to Materials Management operations.\nConduct executive business reviews with key customers and vendors to ensure alignment and performance expectations are achieved.\nLeadership & Organizational Development\nProvide strategic leadership and direction to managers and teams across all Materials Management functions.\nBuild a high-performing organization through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and talent development.\nFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.\nDrive employee engagement initiatives that support retention, development, and organizational effectiveness.\nLead organizational change initiatives to support business growth and evolving customer requirements.\nCollaborate with executive leadership to define long-term strategic goals and operational priorities.\nCommunicate business performance, key initiatives, and operational results to senior leadership.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred; MBA a plus.\nMinimum of 15 years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse operations, materials management, or related operational leadership roles.\nMinimum of 8-10 years of leadership experience managing multiple functional teams and leaders.\nDemonstrated experience managing P&L responsibilities and driving operational profitability.\nStrong knowledge of warehouse management, inventory control, transportation, logistics, supply chain systems, and operational best practices.\nExperience developing and executing strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.\nProven ability to partner effectively with executive leadership, sales organizations, and key customers.\nStrong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis skills.\nExceptional communication, leadership, and change management capabilities.\nAbility to travel as business needs require, roughly 25%.\nPosition Specifics\nThe initial base salary range for this position is expected to be between $150,000 and $190,000 annually. The final base salary offered will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, depth of experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, our compensation structure includes variable pay through commissions based on individual sales performance.
