(DO NOT CHANGE).\nAs a Manufacturing Engineer you’ll take charge of consumable product specifications and support key processes involved in batching, bottling, and packaging products for market.\nYou’ll have the opportunity to tackle challenges head-on, optimizing manufacturing methods to boost safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.\nBy developing innovative solutions, you’ll help streamline production and minimize waste, directly impacting our success in creating high-quality products. \nLocation: Onsite: Kalamazoo, MI\nWhat you will do:\nUnderstand and address manufacturing waste, including MUV (Material Usage Variance), scrap, downtime, manufacturing layout, and inventory location/accuracy issues.\nAddress daily process disruptions, including equipment downtime, material availability, and IT system outages; update SOPs and re-train employees as needed.\nSupport change control activities, including use-as-is and disposition decisions, and own manufacturing SOPs and work instructions for existing and new processes.\nLead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, waste reduction, material cost savings, and production enhancements.\nSupport IQ/OQ/PQ validations for existing and new equipment and assist with implementation of next-generation production lines and capital projects.\nMaintain costing standards, including setup times, production rates, and scrap rates/factors, and participate in the annual standard roll.\nSupport packaging design/development and new product development activities, ensuring design for manufacturability and supporting product rationalization efforts.\nCreate and maintain the product family matrix and assist Marketing and Inventory Control with product rationalization from a manufacturing perspective.\nQualifications & Skills:\nBachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering required, Masters preferred.\n3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering required.\nExperience identifying sources of waste and manufacturing processes to drive down cost.\nExperience with validation for equipment and processes.\nExperience managing projects or programs.\nKnowledge, training, and/or experience in Lean Manufacturing.\nManufacturing standard costing experience preferred.\nISO 9001, ISO13485, FDA experience is preferred.\nThe ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 50lbs as well as the ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel and carry. \nThe hiring range for this position is: $74,250 - $88,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
