This role is responsible for ensuring product EHS, quality, compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, and effective resolution of issues in the facility.\nThe EHS & Quality Technician reports to the General Manager and works closely with EHS, Quality Engineers/Specialists, Product Engineers, Operations, and Supply Chain personnel both on site and at the corporate office. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, data-driven problem solving, and effective cross-functional collaboration.\n\nEssential Functions\nManage and support the implementation of EHS & quality, procedures, and work instructions in compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements\nAssure conformance to specifications for incoming and finished products\nConduct and support safety and quality inspections, including:\nIn process audits\nEHS audits\nIncoming and outgoing product inspections\nFinish paint inspections \nParts and specification compliance reviews\nCustomer inspections and audits\nConducts new employee orientations for EHS and Quality topics\nSupport root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to EHS incidents and quality nonconformances\nPartner with site leadership to manage safety & quality expectations with employees, contractors, suppliers, and vendors\nSupport risk and hazard assessments for job safety (JSA) and product quality \nUse data systems to track, manage, and report EHS and Quality metrics; prepare KPI reports and trend analysis\nSupport training documentation and ensure EHS & quality-related training requirements are tracked and completed\nManage customer quality issues in partnership with Quality Engineers/Specialists, including:\nTimely response to customer complaints or nonconformances\nData collection and communication with EQI’s global supply chain\nParticipation in the 8D corrective action process and follow-up to closure\nMonitor customer quality performance and provide on-site customer support as needed\nSupport specification distribution and training processes\nCreates and manages training matrices to ensure all training is defined and tracked to completion\nProvide best-practice guidance related to EHS & quality processes and inspections\nOversee rework, repair, and inspection activities as needed to minimize cost and customer impact\nPerform general support functions for EHS and Quality team members\nMaintain EHS documentation, records, permits, and compliance reports\nManage onsite safety programs and initiatives (PPE, contractor safety, emergency preparedness, …)\n\nQualifications\nMinimum two (2) years of EHS & quality experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment\nHigh school diploma or GED required\nWorking knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard control principles, and safety best practices\nCertifications in Quality and/or Continuous Improvement preferred\nInterpret and apply engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards\nAbility to read and interpret safety procedures, standards, and regulatory documents\nAbility to conduct measurement and testing using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments\nCertifications such as OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, or other safety credentials (preferred but not always required)\nExperience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 preferred)\nDemonstrated experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies\nProven ability to analyze quality data and drive continuous improvement\nSDS management\nFundamental understanding of lean manufacturing principles\nAbility to lead and support cross-functional teams\nHighly preferred: Experience with wet painting and powder coating processes, including inspection criteria, defect identification, and process
