# Cobol Mainframe Consultant

Job Purpose The COBOL Mainframe Consultant will be responsible for developing, maintaining, enhancing and supporting business-critical applications within an IBM Mainframe environment. The successful candidate will analyse business requirements, troubleshoot system issues and deliver reliable, high-quality technical solutions. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain and enhance applications using COBOL. Work with mainframe technologies, including JCL, CICS and DB2. Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Perform application maintenance, debugging and troubleshooting. Investigate and resolve production incidents and system defects. Develop and maintain batch processing jobs and online transaction programs. Perform unit testing, integration testing and support user acceptance testing. Support database operations, SQL queries and data processing. Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with development standards. Prepare and maintain technical documentation. Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, testers and technical teams. Support system enhancements, releases and continuous improvement initiatives. Minimum
