The arrangements and frequency will be agreed locally.\n This post is only open for applications from internal staff for Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and Isle of Wight NHS Trust\nNHS Band 3 Salary: £25,760 - £27,476 pro rata per annum\n(actual Salary: £20,607 - £21,980 per annum)\nHours per Week: Part-Time 30 hrs\nContract Type: Permanent\nLocation: St Mary's Hospital (IOW), Parkhurst Road, Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 5TG\nJoin our friendly Procurement and Supply Department and play a key role keeping wards and departments at Queen Alexandra Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital, Isle of Wight, stocked and ready to treat patients.\nKey responsibilities:\nOperate the Inventory Management System to process, track and replenish stock.\nUse an advanced Inventory Management System, utilising barcode technology to order medical and surgical products.\nPick, pack and deliver medical and surgical supplies to wards and departments.\nMaintain accurate stock records and assist with stock audits.\nProvide friendly, efficient customer service to clinical and non-clinical teams.\nPrioritise workload to meet deadlines and respond to urgent requests.\nPerform light manual handling as required and follow health and safety procedures.\nContribute to continuous improvement of supply chain processes.\nWhat we are looking for:\nEnthusiastic team player with a positive, customer focused attitude.\nKeyboard and basic IT skills; full training on our Inventory Management System will be given.\nGood verbal communication and the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and clinical teams.\nAbility to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines in a fast paced environment.\nWillingness to undertake light lifting and follow manual handling guidance.\nThe skill to prioritise your workload whilst understanding that you will have to meet deadlines.\nPrevious experience in supply chain, stock control, retail, hospitality or a hospital environment is desirable but not essential.\nWhilst our Procurement team is based at Lakeside North Harbour, our Supply Chain Teams are based at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth as well as at St. Mary’s in Newport IoW.\nFor full job details and person specifications please refer to enclosed Job description.\n Essential\nEducation to GCSE or equivalent, including Mathematics and English NVQ Level 3 or CIPS Foundation Level\nDesirable\nTraining in moving and handling goods. \nExperience\nExperience of working in a service industry\nAbility to communicate in written and oral English.\nAbility to operate a personal computer with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.\nAbility to understand and work with financial, administrative and personnel processes and practices\nSkills & Knowledge\nEssential\nNumerate and literate.\nStrong interpersonal skills\nStrong administration skills\nEffective communicator both orally and on paper\nSkill in working with cross functional teams.\nWell-developed influencing skills across hierarchies and disciplines\n Ability to act and ensure delivery.
