United, by one thing, making money management straightforward and cost-effective for our customers.\nAbout the Role\nThe Risk Manager will be responsible for and will support and oversee the organisation’s risk management framework across the Group, ensuring risks are effectively identified, assessed, monitored, and mitigated.\nThis roleholder will ensure and strengthen the Group’s risk culture, enhances risk awareness across business units, and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.The Risk Manager will need to collaborate closely with the Group’s senior leadership, risk champions, and cross-functional teams to embed strong risk culture and controls.\nResponsibilities\nRisk Management Frameworks\nMaintain and update risk registers in line with the organisation’s risk appetite.\n\nSupport the development and monitoring of key risk indicators (KRIs) and controls.\n\nLead and coordinate risk assessments, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are implemented.\n\nConduct regular reviews and help with testing to assess the effectiveness of controls.\n\nInvestigate Risk Events and oversee resolution, ensuring lessons learned are captured and applied.\n\nPromoting a Strong Risk Culture\nAct as a point of contact for risk-related queries across the Group.\n\nCoordinate and support a network of risk champions to embed risk practices within business units.\n\nDeliver training and guidance to promote proactive risk awareness and escalation\n\nRisk Reporting and Insights\nPrepare risk reports and dashboards for senior leadership, risk committees, and governance forums.\n\nProvide insights into enterprise risks, highlighting exposures, trends, and emerging risks.\n\nMonitor risks against the organisation’s risk appetite and escalate breaches appropriately.\n\nCollaboration and Continuous Improvement\nPartner with different functions to align risk practices with regulatory and business needs.\n\nCollaborate with internal teams to strengthen risk identification and mitigation.\n\nContribute to enhancements in risk tools, processes, and reporting systems.\n\nStay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks.\n\nCore Competencies\nTeam Collaboration: Builds effective relationships across teams and engages risk champions to embed risk culture.\n\nTechnical Acumen: Strong understanding of ERM frameworks, operational risk management, and financial risk in fintech.\n\nAnalytical Skills: Skilled in interpreting risk data, developing KRIs, and recommending mitigation strategies.\n\nAttention to Detail: Ensures accuracy, consistency, and traceability in risk documentation and reporting.\n\nStakeholder Engagement: Confident in engaging senior leaders and providing actionable insights.\n\nCommunication Skills: Able to prepare and deliver high-quality reports, dashboards, and training sessions. Provide training and guidance to enhance risk awareness and alignment with the framework\n\nEssential Skills\n5+ years in a risk management, operational risk, or ERM role, ideally in fintech, consulting and/or financial services sectors.\n\nStrong knowledge of risk frameworks, controls testing, and regulatory requirements under FCA (UK), NBB (Belgium), and DORA (EU).\n\nFamiliarity with risk reporting tools, dashboards, and data analysis.\n\nExposure to financial services and payments/e-money related risks, and/or embedded finance models (desirable).\n\nRelevant qualifications in risk, compliance, or financial services (IRM, ARM, or equivalent desirable).\n\nThe Group strives to create a workplace where we can all be ourselves.
