United, by one thing, making money management straightforward and cost-effective for our customers.\nAbout the role\nEquals sells to programme managers: payment service providers, acquirers and platforms that run accounts, payments, FX or cards for their own customers on our infrastructure, through an API integration or a white-label setup.\nAs a Solutions Engineer you are the technical lead in the sale. You work with our Platform Sales team and our partnerships teams to understand what a prospect needs, design a solution that works for them and for us, scope it in a Statement of Work, and hand it cleanly to implementation. You will lead technical discovery, run demos and sandbox walkthroughs, answer RFPs and due diligence, and tell sales early when a deal will not work.\nResponsibilities\nLead technical discovery with prospects: their systems, their customers, their flow of funds, and their integration or white-label requirements.\nDesign the solution across accounts, payments, FX and card issuing, and document it clearly: architecture, flows, responsibilities and risks.\nWrite the Statement of Work: deliverables, scope, assumptions and dependencies, so what is signed is what we can deliver.\nQualify opportunities on product fit with the seller, and flag early where a deal needs Product, Compliance or Engineering input.\nRun demos, API walkthroughs and sandbox sessions for prospects' technical and product teams.\nProvide the technical content for RFPs, RFIs and due diligence questionnaires.\nHand over to Implementation and Technical Account Management with complete documentation.\nCapture product gaps and requests from the field and feed them to Product with the commercial context.\nImprove the team's demo environments, templates and technical sales material.\nAccountabilities\nWin rate on deals you support.\nTime from discovery to solution proposal.\nSoW accuracy: delivered without material re-scoping.\nQuality of handover to Implementation.\nYourprofile\nSkills & experience\nThree or more years as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer or technical consultant in a SaaS or API-first business, ideally in payments or fintech.\nStrong on REST APIs, webhooks and integration patterns, and confident with Postman, cURL and API specifications.\nHas worked with enterprise clients to design and scope technical solutions, and written SoWs.\nHas supported RFPs and due diligence with accurate technical input.\nKnowledge of payments, card issuing, banking-as-a-service or embedded finance is a strong advantage.\nExcellent written and spoken communication; confident running a technical workshop.\nAttitude & behaviours\nCustomer-first, with a knack for making complex things simple.\nCommercially aware: understands why the deal matters as well as how the solution works.\nStraight about what we can and cannot do.\nOrganised across several live opportunities at once.\nCollaborative with Sales, Product, Engineering and Compliance.\nDiversity & inclusion\nEquals is committed to building a workplace where everyone can be themselves.
