Role Summary

EQ Retirement Solutions are looking for a Continuous Improvement Analyst within the Administration department.

The main purpose of the role is to support operational excellence by identifying, analysing and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency, increase quality and reduce operational costs. The role will work across operational and project teams to review end-to-end processes, implement Lean improvement methodologies and establish performance measures that deliver sustainable business benefits.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Partner with operational delivery teams, project managers, contractors, development teams and wider stakeholders to identify and deliver process improvements.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across Life & Pensions Operations using Lean and best-practice methodologies.
  • Analyse current business processes, mapping inputs, outputs and workflow activities to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to secure engagement, support and buy-in throughout the improvement lifecycle.
  • Challenge existing ways of working and facilitate effective problem-solving to deliver measurable operational improvements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify trends, recurring issues and opportunities to enhance the customer experience.
  • Introduce and monitor performance metrics to measure the effectiveness and sustainability of implemented improvements.
  • Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues and dependencies that may impact successful delivery.
  • Support the creation, review and sign-off of project documentation, recommendations and improvement plans.
  • Produce reporting on continuous improvement activity, delivery progress, efficiency gains and realised benefits.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation, learning and constructive challenge.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to operational teams to embed continuous improvement principles and practices.

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

The ideal candidate will have the below skills, capabilities and attributes essential or preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using Root Cause Analysis techniques such as Fishbone, 5 Whys and SIPOC.
  • Proven experience delivering continuous improvement initiatives and operational change programmes.
  • Excellent knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and engage operational managers and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge constructively and drive positive outcomes.
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting business and customer requirements to support project scoping and delivery.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Strong numerical and analytical capability with experience analysing large and complex datasets.
  • Ability to train, coach and support teams in continuous improvement tools and techniques.
  • Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Experience within pensions, financial services or regulated environments is desirable.
  • Knowledge of defined benefit pension administration is desirable.
