You’ll find belonging, purpose, and a team that welcomes you-because when you feel valued, you’re empowered to do your best work.Job Summary\nResponsible for the planning and coordinating of the commissioning for large-scale greenfield data centers and retrofit live data centers.\nResponsibilities\nProject Management\nCreates and implements multi-facility, standards-based commissioning plans and schedules\n\nProvides input and suggestions on new and existing Critical Environment Programs\n\nCommunicates effectively with both business operations and construction managers\n\nResponsible for regional, short- to medium-term pipeline management to inform resource planning\n\nLiaises with internal construction managers and external general contractors on the planning and execution of all commissioning activities\n\nMaintains commissioning logs, equipment checklist, and other tools to track commissioning projects\n\nResponsible to the construction project manager for input into the project budget for all commissioning activities\n\nDevelops electrical and mechanical Functional Performance Test procedures and Factory Acceptance Test Procedures\n\nCustomer Interface\nIssues customer-facing reports\n\nInteracts with and presents to key customers on progress against commissioning plans and achievement of Ready for Sales (RFS) dates\n\nActs as point of contact for customer escalations throughout the commissioning process\n\nProcess Management\nFollows all commissioning processes and escalates any potential improvements to senior management\n\nDevelops standardized schedules and commissioning scopes based on specific customer contract requirements\n\nReporting\nResponsible for all internal and external progress reporting for all projects during the commissioning phase, in coordination with construction project manager\n\nPrepares commissioning test procedures and reports\n\nWrites comprehensive reports that include recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, list of deficiencies, equipment operation and maintenance manuals\n\nResponsible for collating historical data regarding specific equipment startup and testing challenges and reporting back to all Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment vendors\n\nProvides input into data analytics/metrics reporting\n\nVendor Management\nUndertakes quarterly business reviews with vendors to review performance and ways to improve interaction\n\nResponsible for production of project-specific commissioning RFPs and responding to bid clarifications\n\nResponsible for leveling and recommending commissioning consultant award\n\nLeads and manages external resources\n\nSchedules and directs periodic commissioning meetings\n\nDetermines vendor KPIs and conducts lessons learned reviews\n\nQualifications\n7+ years of data center commissioning experience preferred\n\n3+ years leadership experience in a mission-critical environment preferred\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering preferred\n\nEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
