Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Markets Communications and collaborating closely with the regional executive communications team, this person will be a strategic contributor to the corporate communications team and a trusted partner to the Office of the EVP, Global Markets.\nIn this role, you will develop, execute and support external communication for the EVP, Global Markets, including developing thought leadership content and points-of-view, social media content, speaking engagements and supporting efforts driven by other communication practice areas, in order to establish the EVP as an authoritative voice for Equinix. You will partner across the corporate communications team to support a wide range of external communications activities such as media, analyst, investor relations, public policy, social media and other stakeholder activities.\nAdditionally, you will develop and execute internal communications strategies that build a shared identity and an inspiring employee experience for the Global Markets function, fostering a clear understanding of its purpose.\nYou will work across the organization to ensure we are driving strategic alignment between corporate, functional and regional priorities, shaping the Global Markets narrative, and creating a programmatic approach that delivers measurable impact.\nResponsibilities\nExecutive platform development & execution\nElevate the voice of the EVP, Global Markets on specific topics aligned with Equinix’s strategy and the outcomes, value and innovation customers, partners and communities can create through Platform Equinix\nDevelop points of view and create opportunities for the EVP to have a voice and future perspective on key topical issues\nDevelop and evolve the EVP, Global Markets’ communication platform\nPartner closely with PR, AR, IR, Public Policy, Social and regional communications leaders across the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific to drive external engagement opportunities across priority audiences and topics\nOversee the EVP, Global Markets’ social media presence (LinkedIn). Develop SoMe strategy, create content and maintain a calendar in alignment with the overall social media strategy\nDevelop external presentations and talking points for industry, customer, government and other key external events and stakeholder engagements\nLead Internal Communications for the Global Markets Function\nDesign, build and roll out creative employee communications programs that establish the identity of the newly formed Global Markets function and increase awareness, understanding, engagement and a deep emotional connection across a globally distributed employee base\nBe an expert storyteller and incredible writer who brings out the values of Equinix by developing compelling narratives and holistic campaigns that connect the Global Markets strategy to the day-to-day work of employees in every region\nDevelop and execute Global Markets all-hands and leadership team communications, including presentation development, managing materials, logistics and coordination with speakers across time zones\nDevelop messaging, including intranet articles, executive emails, briefing documents, talking points, video scripts and Q&A documents as needed\nUnderstand trends in internal communications tools, applications, channels, design and strategy\nOversee the measurement of internal communication programs for Global Markets and develop recommendations to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of employee communications and engagement\nSupport change management, crisis and M&A communications\nAchieve cross-functional alignment and execution\nWork collaboratively and cross functionally to ensure alignment and consistency between Global Markets priorities and corporate, regional and functional communications\nActively engage with the Office of the EVP, the Global Markets leadership team, regional (Americas/EMEA/APAC) communications teams, HR, Marketing, Sales, Investor Relations and Public Policy\nQualifications\nKnowledge and Experience\nProven years communications experience creating and implementing strategies and developing online content; ideally having worked with Fortune 500 B2B technology companies and supported C-suite or EVP-level executives\nDemonstrated excellence in strategic storytelling, writing/editing, project management, strategic planning and execution, executive coaching, event management, crisis management/communications, change management and multimedia communications\nComfort translating complex business, financial and investment topics into clear, compelling narratives for both executive and employee audiences\nExperience managing content for web, video, social and print and development of content strategy\nStrong planning and project management skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment\nDigital acumen and knowledge of digital communications trends and standards/designs/best practices including user experience for web, email, mobile and social media\nExperience with metrics gathering and reporting to measure communication performance, to optimize going forward and to understand audience behaviors\nExperience with visual design and layout and working with creative resources is a plus\nCrisis communications experience, as well as experience dealing with sensitive workforce and workplace issues\nExperience working across multiple regions and time zones and supporting a globally distributed executive and employee base\nBachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related area preferred\nStrong understanding of key technology and communication tools, including PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, SharePoint, SmartSheets, and Populo, as well as a willingness and ability to quickly embrace new tools\nSkill and Attributes\nBring innovative thinking, creative ideas, an external perspective, global and regional insights, diverse perspectives and higher-level awareness into everything you do\nA collaborative leader capable of building cross-functional relationships to drive change and influence business decisions\nHighly collaborative nature with experience working cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization where you must partner, manage through influence, and set others up for success\nPassion for building process and structure to support a newly formed, high-growth function and optimizing execution of day-to-day operations and deliverables\nExemplary written, verbal and presentation skills\nDemonstrated passion for building a strong internal culture\nDetail-oriented with ability to handle various tasks simultaneously under multiple deadlines\nEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
