This role is key to strategic planning, business case development and new business initiatives. The Director builds strong partnerships across major functions and develops internal consulting capabilities to support strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and real estate investments. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Development for EMEA, this role leads the regional deal lifecycle from origination through signing, working with senior leaders throughout the region.\nResponsibilities\nMergers & Acquisitions Strategy and Execution\nEstablishes and leads M&A strategy and execution for the region, partnering through due diligence and beyond\nSources and analyzes accretive acquisition and partnership opportunities\nLeads cross-functional teams through sourcing, due diligence and transaction processes\nDrives development of operational models and synergy forecasts for targets, including review and acceptance of potential dyssynergy motions\nLeads negotiations (with Legal support) and closing of M&A transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations\nRepresents and drives deal approvals at Senior Executive and Board level\nSupports buyside and sellside M&A processes, identifies deal issues and resolves them with teams\nDevelops deal valuation frameworks (comparable companies, precedent transactions, discounted cash flow, investment return models, pro forma accretion/dilution analyses)\nWorks with Treasury to support transaction financing\nSupports development of M&A thesis with Business Unit Heads\nDevelops transaction timelines and storyboards presentations for Senior Executive discussions\nCommunicates with stakeholders to ensure alignment on deal pipeline and resource allocation\nMarket Monitoring and Strategic Assessment\nDefines and executes processes for evaluating sectors and identifying targets to support growth strategy\nTracks deal and investment activity, especially for Data Center expansion\nAnalyzes structural alternatives (build vs. buy, equity investment vs. partnership vs. acquisition)\nDevelops insights based on tracking strategic actions across the regional ecosystem\nPerformance Measurement & Reporting\nTracks and analyzes performance metrics for regional strategic initiatives\nDevelops and maintains reporting frameworks for deal outcomes, pipeline progress, and ROI\nDelivers timely performance reports to senior stakeholders\nFinancial Modeling and Data Valuation\nDrives business insight and alignment on assumptions for operational models and synergy forecasts\nDevelops deal valuation frameworks for organic deals, M&A, and JV (including comparable companies, precedent transactions, discounted cash flow, organic vs. inorganic options, accretion/dilution and other pro-forma metrics)\nStrategic Alignment and Interface Management\nManages strategic initiatives and dependencies with applicable power strategies\nDetermines interplay with global Corporate Strategy, Power, and Product organizations\nCollaborates with GDC, Global Real Estate, and Data Center Operations for capex planning and approvals\nProject and Program Management\nIdentifies business issues requiring project management\nDevelops Executive staff and Board presentation materials\nManages and reports on complex strategic initiatives\nLeads internal consulting projects focused on new markets/products, growth, and profitability improvements\nProvides short-term consulting and performance improvement support to Executive team\nRuns interdepartmental working group meetings and interviews HODs and Country Managers to troubleshoot issues\nCross-Functional Coordination\nHosts and facilitates cross-departmental meetings\nDocuments and recommends actions to senior team members\nProvides summary notes and follow-up communications to working teams\nQualifications\nUndergraduate degree with strong academic background; MBA, CFA or CPA preferred but not required\nExtensive experience, preferably at a leading investment bank, consulting firm, private equity, or corporate finance/development at a technology firm\nPrevious experience in data centers, digital infrastructure, or TMT preferred\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills; collaborative team orientation\nStrong commercial judgment, work ethic, professionalism and intellectual curiosity\nExcellent analytical and financial analysis skills.\nEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
