This role provides technical leadership for electrical operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and incident response activities while supporting the continuous delivery of highly resilient services to customers.\nWorking with a high degree of independence, the engineer leads complex electrical maintenance activities, supports critical switching operations, identifies operational risks, and drives continuous improvement initiatives that enhance infrastructure reliability, safety, and efficiency.\nResponsibilities\nFacility / Infrastructure Maintenance\nOperate, maintain, and support mission-critical electrical infrastructure, including UPS systems, generators, switchgear, transformers, PDUs, breakers, and associated distribution systems\n\nPerform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and availability of critical power systems\n\nLead electrical troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex infrastructure issues, minimizing operational risk and customer impact\n\nMonitor the Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), responding to alarms and identifying potential risks before service impacts occur\n\nLead and coordinate critical electrical operations, including maintenance windows, switching procedures, energization activities, and infrastructure recovery efforts\n\nConduct site inspections and assess the health and performance of electrical infrastructure, recommending corrective actions and reliability improvements\n\nSupport electrical capacity planning and load management activities to ensure infrastructure readiness for future growth\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve system reliability, operational efficiency, and energy performance\n\nSite Administration\nPrepare, review, and authorize technical documentation including Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and switching plans\n\nEnsure maintenance activities are executed safely and in accordance with operational, regulatory, and company requirements\n\nMaintain accurate infrastructure records, maintenance history, and operational documentation\n\nIncident Management\nServe as a technical lead during electrical incidents, infrastructure failures, and power-related events\n\nProvide guidance to on-site teams during incident response and restoration activities\n\nConduct root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and develop corrective and preventive action plans\n\nLead post-incident reviews and recommend improvements to operational processes and infrastructure resilience\n\nVendor Management\nManage and coordinate electrical service providers, contractors, and vendors performing maintenance and project activities\n\nReview vendor work plans, technical proposals, and maintenance recommendations\n\nEnsure work is performed in accordance with safety requirements, industry standards, and data center operational procedures\n\nWork Orders & Capacity Management\nLead resolution of complex work orders and infrastructure-related requests\n\nSupport electrical capacity planning, power utilization analysis, and infrastructure growth initiatives\n\nProvide technical reviews of customer power requirements and infrastructure impacts\n\nSupport commissioning, testing, and integration of new electrical systems\n\nCollaboration\nAct as a technical mentor to engineers and technicians, sharing expertise and supporting team development\n\nPartner with Critical Facilities, Customer Operations, Security, Design & Construction, and vendor teams to deliver operational excellence\n\nIdentify underlying infrastructure issues and recommend long-term reliability improvements\n\nLeverage internal and external technical resources to resolve complex electrical challenges\n\nAdditional Projects\nLead electrical infrastructure projects, including upgrades, capacity expansion, modernization, and reliability improvement initiatives\n\nSupport lifecycle management and replacement strategies for critical electrical assets\n\nParticipate in commissioning, integrated systems testing, and acceptance activities for new infrastructure deployments\n\nRecommend and champion initiatives that improve uptime, reliability, safety, and operational efficiency\n\nQualifications\nEducation & Experience\nDiploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline preferred\n\nMinimum 5 years of experience operating and maintaining critical electrical infrastructure in data centers, utilities, industrial facilities, telecommunications, or other mission-critical environments\n\nPreferred Skills & Experience\nStrong experience with mission-critical power systems, including: UPS systems Diesel generators Switchgear and breakers Transformers Low- and medium-voltage distribution systems Power monitoring systems\n\nExperience performing electrical switching activities, maintenance planning, and incident response\n\nAbility to troubleshoot complex electrical faults and identify root causes\n\nExperience leading maintenance vendors and coordinating infrastructure projects\n\nStrong understanding of electrical safety practices, operational risk management, and permit-to-work
