As a Monitoring Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and security of our data center infrastructure. This position requires expertise in monitoring systems, key stakeholder and customer engagement and ideally with a strong background in data centers, security or monitoring - working 10 hours day shifts in a global \"Follow the Sun\" roster.\nWith a supportive team and management structure the successful candidate will have the opportunity to flourish in the role, and provide crucial support to our data centers.\nKey responsibilities:\nSystem Monitoring\n24x7x365 monitoring of Data Center security and infrastructure alarms\nDocumentation & Processing\nEnsures timely and accurate input of access information into access control system\nProcesses inbound access requests from customers, carriers, and our sites\nDispatches service requests, trouble and alarm tickets\nTechnical Expertise\nBuilds familiarity with BMS systems, security access control systems, and basic data center infrastructure\nHas working knowledge of security best practices\nSystems Support & Maintenance\nProcesses inbound alerts from essential systems and network elements\nProvides timely response to all access and CCTV related alarms\nProcesses site maintenance and outage notifications\nProblem Solving\nAbility to identify and resolve, or report, a detected problem\nEscalates trouble cases and emergencies as needed to lead and/or management personnel\nTraining and Project Management and quality assurance\nReceives guidance and support from others\nFollows instructions on departmental projects\nAssists with basic QA and escalates trouble cases to lead and/or management as needed\nQualifications, key skills and attributes:\nExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to escalate issues when necessary\nAbility to communicate effectively in English to support global data center operations\nFamiliarity with monitoring systems from data centers or relevant industries\nAbility to commit to a 24/7/365 roster shared between the team\nStrong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously\nExcellent communication and documentation skills\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment, with the confidence to triage incidents using sound judgement\nEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
