You’ll find belonging, purpose, and a team that welcomes you-because when you feel valued, you’re empowered to do your best work.Job Summary\nThe Senior Accountant, Construction & Project Accounting, is responsible for supporting accounting activities related to capital expenditures (CAPEX), Construction-in-Progress (CIP), fixed assets, and technology project investments. This role partners with Finance, Operations, Engineering, IT, and Tax teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment, compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal controls, timely financial reporting, and effective support of project accounting activities throughout the project lifecycle.\nResponsibilities\nPrepare and review general ledger journal entries related to CAPEX, CIP, project accounting, fixed assets, and assigned accounting areas\nEnsure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely in accordance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal control requirements\nManage a portfolio of construction and technology projects and support appropriate accounting treatment from project initiation through capitalization and closeout\nPartner with Operations, Engineering, IT, Tax, and Finance stakeholders to support project accounting and capitalization decisions\nMonitor CIP activity, capitalization events, transfers to fixed assets, and project closures\nPrepare and review account reconciliations for complex balance sheet and income statement accounts\nParticipate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including financial analysis and reporting\nPerform variance analysis and investigate financial fluctuations\nConduct accounting research and evaluate accounting treatment for new or complex transactions\nExecute, document, and maintain SOX control activities\nPrepare audit support documentation for quarterly reviews, annual audits, and regulatory reporting requirements\nDevelop ad hoc financial analyses, reports, and management presentations\nSupport process improvement initiatives and special projects\n Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.\nProfessional experience in accounting, financial close, and general ledger activities\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting principles\nExperience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations\nExperience supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes\nExperience performing financial analysis and accounting research\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and lookup functions\nExperience working with internal controls and SOX compliance requirements\nAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders\nFluent English communication skills, both written and verbal\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with CAPEX accounting\nExperience with Construction Accounting\nExperience with Construction-in-Progress (CIP)\nExperience with Fixed Asset Accounting\nExperience supporting construction and technology project accounting\nExperience with Oracle Cloud ERP\nExperience with Oracle Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and/or Project Costing (PCS)\nExperience with Hyperion Essbase or Smart View\nCPA certification or progress toward a CPA designation\nLocation\nSão Paulo, SP, Brazil\nor\nBogotá, Cundinamarca, Colombia\nWork Model\nHybrid work model: 2 days per week in the office, with the remaining days working remotely.\nEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
