Focuses on moderately difficult tasks, with substantial understanding of standard operating procedures. Supports the overall team.\nQueue Management & Reporting\nReview and execute advanced work orders requiring deep procedural knowledge and adherence to commitment times\nEvaluate expedited requests and resolve or route them appropriately\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer ticket resolution\nMaintain detailed documentation of all work activities\nComplete accurate reporting and fulfill ad-hoc reporting requests\nCreate Purchase Orders (POs) and Purchase Requests (PRs)\nAssign locks and keys for Equinix and customer assets, where applicable\nPrepare customer-facing reports (e.g., power usage, access logs)\nUpdate asset databases and internal systems\nInstallations\nPerform skilled rack-and-stack installation of customer equipment\nInterpret and execute complex installation plans\nSupport challenging infrastructure builds, including fiber trays, ladder racks, cabinets, cable trays, grounding systems, and cable management\nPerform tape changes and backup updates\nIdentify and escalate capacity or cabling concerns\nConduct quality checks on cross-connects and on-site support tasks\nCross-Connect Work\nExecute complex cross-connect installations, terminations, modifications, and testing\nInstall and test advanced circuit types, including switched and multiplexed connections\nTesting & Troubleshooting\nPerform skilled Layer 1-3 certification testing\nTroubleshoot advanced circuit issues, including switched and multiplexed circuits\nSupport escalated testing and diagnostic activities\nStakeholder Partnership\nMonitor inventory levels and coordinate material replenishment\nProvide escalation support for urgent work orders\nCollaborate with internal teams on cross-functional initiatives\nCustomer Management\nEnsure customer satisfaction through timely, accurate order execution and quality assurance\nDeliver exceptional service during customer interactions\nSupport sensitive or escalated customer situations\nManage expectations for new deployments and modifications\nProvide on-site support, including access control and escorting\nServe as a point of contact for advanced customer requests and escalations\nQualifications\nMust meet all eligibility requirements outlined in DOD Instruction 1322.29 and NAVADMIN 222/15. Required\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\n4-6 years of experience in data center operations, telecommunications, network infrastructure, or a related technical field\nStrong understanding of standard operating procedures and safety protocols\nPreferred\nExperience with fiber and copper terminations and testing\nFamiliarity with data center infrastructure components (ladder racks, cable trays, grounding systems, cabinets)\nExperience with inventory management and material handling\nPrior experience supporting customer deployments and access control\nAbility to identify capacity constraints and escalate appropriately\nDemonstrated experience with rack-and-stack installations, structured cabling, and cross-connect work\nProficiency with Layer 1-3 testing and troubleshooting tools\nAbility to interpret technical documentation and installation plans\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple work orders and meet deadlines\nExcellent written documentation and record-keeping skills\nStrong customer-service orientation and professional communication skills\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding data center environment\n*Skillbridge Internship positions are open to active duty and/or transitioning military members.
