Works independently on a variety of technical challenges related to automation, deployment, cloud platforms and infrastructure.\nResponsible for building and maintaining reliable and secure engineering environments, improving deployment processes and resolving complex production issues. This is a journey-level individual contributor role that does not lead teams.\nResponsibilities\nIndependently handles a wide range of DevSecOps, cloud and infrastructure engineering issues with limited day-to-day instruction.\nBuilds and maintains CI/CD pipelines and automation to support software development and deployment.\nWorks with cloud platforms, containers and Kubernetes to deploy and manage applications and services.\nUses Infrastructure as Code to automate and manage cloud and infrastructure environments.\nApplies security practices across development, deployment and infrastructure processes.\nTroubleshoots production issues across applications, cloud, infrastructure and deployment environments and drives root-cause resolution.\nIdentifies opportunities to automate manual processes, improve reliability and reduce operational effort.\nWorks with engineering teams to improve deployment, infrastructure and operational practices.\nTechnical\nIndependently develops and maintains reliable automation, deployment and infrastructure solutions.\nDesigns and improves CI/CD processes and deployment environments.\nWorks hands-on with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code and automation tools.\nDebugs production issues involving multiple systems and identifies permanent solutions.\nMaintains good engineering, security and operational practices through code reviews and technical standards.\nDealing with Ambiguity\nUnderstands technical requirements and independently determines appropriate DevSecOps and infrastructure solutions.\nWorks through unclear or changing requirements and identifies practical solutions.\nProcess\nImproves team efficiency through automation and better deployment and infrastructure practices.\nIdentifies opportunities to improve reliability, security and operational efficiency.\nScope\nOwns medium to large DevSecOps, cloud or infrastructure components with multiple moving parts.\nWorks across engineering and technology teams to deliver reliable and secure platforms and services.\nLeadership\nTakes ownership of production issues and drives root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.\nLeads by technical example and promotes good DevSecOps and engineering practices.\nCollaborates with engineering, security and infrastructure teams.\nMentors other engineers and shares technical knowledge.\nQualifications\nMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in DevSecOps, Cloud, Infrastructure or related areas.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.\nHands-on experience with CI/CD, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code and automation.\nExperience with Linux, containers and scripting/programming.\nGood understanding of security practices within software development and deployment.\nEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
