The role will focus on Grafana configuration and alerting, Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, and Python-based scripting and automation. You will work closely with Engineering, SRE, DevOps, and Platform teams to monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and improve operational reliability.\nResponsibilities\nManage and maintain Grafana dashboards, alerts, configurations, and monitoring views\nConfigure and maintain monitoring and alerting based on application and infrastructure requirements\nUse Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to manage and maintain observability-related infrastructure and configurations\nDevelop and maintain Python scripts and automation to support monitoring, operational tasks, and reduce manual effort\nMonitor application and infrastructure health and identify gaps in observability and alerting\nTroubleshoot monitoring, alerting, and observability-related issues in production environments\nSupport incident investigation and perform root cause analysis for recurring monitoring or infrastructure issues\nWork with Engineering, SRE, DevOps, and Platform teams to implement and maintain observability requirements\nMaintain documentation for dashboards, alerts, configurations, automation, and operational procedures\nContribute to continuous improvements in monitoring, alerting, automation, and operational reliability\nWhat Success Looks Like\nGrafana dashboards, alerts, and configurations are accurately maintained and reliable\nObservability and alerting requirements are implemented effectively across applications and infrastructure\nTerraform is used consistently to maintain observability-related infrastructure and configurations\nPython automation reduces repetitive operational work\nMonitoring and alerting gaps are identified and addressed proactively\nProduction observability issues are investigated and resolved efficiently\nEngineering teams have reliable visibility into application and infrastructure health\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience\n4-7 years of experience in Observability, SRE, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field\nHands-on experience with Grafana, including: Dashboard creation and maintenance Alert configuration and management Grafana configuration and administration\nHands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)\nWorking experience with Python scripting and automation\nGood understanding of monitoring, alerting, metrics, and production support\nWorking knowledge of Linux and cloud environments such as AWS or GCP\nExperience troubleshooting production environments and working with cross-functional engineering teams\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Prometheus and other monitoring platforms\nExposure to Loki, Tempo, and OpenTelemetry\nExperience with Kubernetes and Docker\nExperience with ELK/OpenSearch or other logging platforms\nExperience with APM, distributed tracing, and application monitoring\nExperience with Java or Go\nExposure to Helm or Ansible\nExperience integrating observability tools with PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Jira, Slack, or Microsoft Teams\nExperience working in a production support or on-call environment\nKey Skills\nMandatory: Grafana - Dashboards, Alerts & Configuration | Terraform - IaC | Python - Scripting & Automation\nObservability: Monitoring, Alerting, Metrics, Logging, APM, Distributed Tracing\nCloud & Infrastructure: AWS/GCP, Linux, Kubernetes, Docker\nGood to Have: Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, ELK/OpenSearch, Java, Go, Helm, Ansible\nEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
