We are looking for engineers responsible for developing consistent APIs with microservices, interacting with multiple consumers and abstracting complex Enterprise Application workflows. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop platform services, and to collaborate with partner teams to understand their requirements and consumption patterns. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is essential. You will work closely with product engineering, architects and product managers.\nResponsibilities\nTechnical Leadership\nContribute to the technical strategy and execution for modular, event-driven, and scalable microservices supporting enterprise workflows\n\nDesign and implement reusable frameworks and self-service modules for service onboarding, configuration, and lifecycle management\n\nLeverage AI tools to accelerate software design, testing, and operations - e.g., AI-assisted code reviews, test generation, and root cause analysis\n\nCollaborate with senior architects and cross-functional teams on architecture decisions across customer, billing, pricing, and commerce domains\n\nPromote design practices that improve maintainability, observability, and operational excellence\n\nEngineering Excellence\nLead by example-building secure, reliable, and observable systems that meet performance and scalability goals\n\nImplement and advocate best practices for API-first development, CI/CD automation, and DevSecOps\n\nPartner with product managers and peers to translate business intent into scalable technical solutions\n\nContribute to automation and AI-driven monitoring that improves reliability and accelerates problem resolution\n\nQualifications\n5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating scalable, cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, and React.js.\n\nStrong experience developing microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems in production environments.\n\nSolid understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, architectural patterns, and API design.\n\nExperience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and performance optimization.\n\nExperience building and supporting cloud-based SaaS/PaaS products at scale.\n\nHands-on experience with Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.\n\nExperience leveraging Generative AI and AI-assisted development tools to improve software delivery, quality, and engineering productivity.\n\nAbility to evaluate technical trade-offs, contribute to architecture decisions, and drive solutions from design through production.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.\n\nPython experience is a plus, particularly in automation, data processing, backend services, or AI-related applications.\n\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.\n\nCore Technology Stack\nRequired: Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, React.js, SQL, NoSQL\nPreferred: Python, AWS/Azure/GCP, AI/ML or Generative AI experience\nSuccessful candidate will\nBe a talent multiplier who gets the team around them to excel\n\nBe persistent, creative and driven to get results relentlessly\n\nExhibit a strong backbone to challenge the status quo, when needed\n\nExhibit a high level of curiosity, keeping abreast of the latest trends & technologies\n\nShow pride of ownership and strive for excellence in everything undertaken\n\nEquinix is committed to ensuring that our employment process is open to all individuals, including those with a disability.
