This individual will be responsible for our international Equinox business in Canada & UK. This role will be a key member of the monthly close process and analysis, working closely with our external auditors for the annual financial audit for all UK entities, and assist on ad hoc research projects as they arise.\nThe candidate will be able to develop and maintain smooth, cooperative working relationships with all levels in the Company. This individual will be eager to learn, organized and possess excellent communication skills.\nThis position is an excellent role for someone wanting to gain experience in full end to end accounting across a multi entity and multi-site UK business, while also starting or continuing their professional development via their studies and examinations.\nThis position will report directly to the Manager of Accounting in the UK Office and work closely with the Accounting team at the Company’s corporate headquarters located in New York, New York.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nPerform key functions in the monthly close process including but not limited to; revenue, payroll, rent, general accruals and prepaids, and cash transactions.\nResponsible for all accounting transactions for international club and studio locations.\nMaintain balance sheet reconciliations at set intervals depending on account.\nProvide analysis for any variances to budget in monthly accounting review meetings.\nMaintain relationships with our club’s General Managers as their main point of contact on all P&L questions.\nRespond to inquiries from supervisors on a timely basis.\nMeet required deadlines for all monthly, quarterly and yearly close related tasks.\nAble to work and partner effectively with other departments, such as club General Managers, Human Resources, Legal, Real Estate, Accounts Payable, Treasury, and Financial Reporting.\n Degree holder preferred.\n1-2 years of experience in accounting, monthly close and preparation of various journals.\nExperience accounting under IFRS and/or US GAAP is a plus.\nActively pursuing or interest in pursuing qualified accountant (i.e, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or international equivalent certifications. \nKnowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 & OneStream is a plus\nSelf-motivated, proactive thinker with ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.\nWork both independently with limited supervision as well as in a team environment.\nAble to handle pressure and short deadlines with a positive attitude.\nExhibit willingness and ability to learn, adapt and improve the environment.\nDetail oriented, with strong analytical and communication skills.\nProficient PC skills in the areas of integrated business system environments, and other basic office software, such as, spreadsheet, database and word-processing. \nInterest in working with AI agents to improve and optimise future workflows.\nCareer-minded and goal-oriented person who is able to see challenges as an opportunity for future advancements.\n AS A MEMBER OF THE EQUINOX TEAM YOU WILL RECEIVE:\nWe offer competitive salary, benefits, and industry leading commission opportunities for club employees \nComplimentary Club membership \nPerks and incentives with our products and services including Personal Training, Pilates, Spa and Shop \nNOTE: This job description is intended to describe the general requirements for the position.
