Perks!\nCompetitive salary\n\nExcellent benefit package with premiums paid by the company\n\nTool allowance\n\nUniform, safety boots/shoes, safety gear provided\n\nRRSP Match\n\nSafety-minded organization\n\nStable, year-round employment\n\nContinuous training, learning and development opportunities\n\nFun-loving work environment with strong social responsibility\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nSupervise and provide day-to-day direction to the welding team, including assigning work, coordinating priorities, and monitoring progress to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.\nProvide hands-on leadership, technical guidance, coaching, and support to welders and other team members.\nRead and interpret engineered drawings and ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and applicable welding standards.\nFabricate and repair structures and equipment by welding various materials using appropriate welding techniques and equipment.\nInspect completed welding and fabrication work to ensure quality and workmanship standards are met.\nSupport the training and development of welders, including new team members and apprentices.\nCoordinate welding and fabrication requirements, including labour, materials, equipment, and timelines.\nTroubleshoot welding, fabrication, and workflow issues and provide technical recommendations as required.\nPromote and maintain a safe and clean work environment, ensuring safe work practices and company policies and procedures are followed.\nSupport daily safety activities and reinforce a strong safety culture within the team.\nAssist in the assembly and disassembly of fleet equipment in preparation for orders.\nFabricate and repair structures and equipment on customers’ sites as needed.\nWork outside in variable weather conditions and temperature ranges.\nWork collaboratively with Operations and other internal teams to prioritize work and support business needs.\nIdentify opportunities to improve welding processes, quality, productivity, and overall shop efficiency.\nPerform other welding, fabrication, and supervisory duties as required.\nWhat You’ll Bring to the Team\nQualifications and Requirements:\nValid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated abstract upon request.\n5+ years of progressive experience in structural fitting, welding, and fabrication, including experience welding steel and aluminum.\nPrevious experience providing leadership, direction, or technical guidance to others is preferred; Lead Hand or supervisory experience is considered an asset.\nStrong structural fitting and welding experience.\nSMAW, GMAW and/or FCAW certifications are an asset.\nCWB certification for stick welding is an asset.\nStrong ability to read and interpret engineered drawings.\nStrong knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, materials, and safe work practices.\nAbility to organize and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong leadership skills with the ability to coach, support, and motivate team members.\nRigging experience is an asset.\nCustomer oriented, with a willingness to learn and excellent problem-solving skills.\nComfortable working outdoors year-round.\nWilling and available to work overtime when needed.\nHighly adaptable, self-motivated, and able to effectively manage changing priorities.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with employees, colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner.\nPhysical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
