The Senior Financial Analyst will use his or her data analytics skill to maintain key financial databases and models to develop scheduled and ad hoc reports that drive key management decisions. The candidate must be a quick learner who possesses strong communication, analytical and technical skills.\nCore Responsibilities\nMaintenance of Financial Data & Systems (45%)\n\nThe Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for maintaining data that flows from key systems into the Finance databases. Including the maintenance of the existing general ledger and future financial tools.\n\nKey deliverables will include ensuring the month end data in key tables are accurate and complete for downstream reporting, raising issues as they rise and ensuring the solution is implemented. The preparation of the finalized source of data for internal and external reporting.\n\nThe Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial models that are distributed to management on a monthly and quarterly basis, such as mortgage subledger and mortgage continuity\n\nThis role will require the candidate to run and maintain detailed queries/reports for regulatory reporting and create Power BI visuals for internal reporting\n\nThe incumbent will employ advanced data cleansing and analytics skills, utilizing complex SQL scripts, M and DAX for Power BI reporting, and the ability to understand programming languages for automated scripts.\n\nEnhance Financial Analyses and Processes (20%)\n\nThe candidate will work closely with various team members to define, scope and implement enhancements to detailed financial models, including budgeting/forecasting tools\n\nThe Senior Financial Analyst will help structure key processes and develop relevant background documentation with a view to enhance efficiencies and manage risk\n\nThis team member will be expected to proactively find ways to improve the technical accuracy, validation and organization of financial models\n\nFinancial Analysis/Ad hoc Reporting (35%)\n\nPerform ad hoc reporting and analysis requests as required with a high degree of flexibility and attention to detail\n\nReporting requests may require the candidate to collect, consolidate and analyze financial data and key performance metrics derived from various sources\n\nThe candidate may be required to assist in other areas of the Accounting and Finance department and other business units as needs arise\n\nLet's Talk About you!\nFour year Degree; Accounting, Finance, Business or Computer Science preferred\n\nAt least 4 - 5 years of progressive and relevant work experience\n\nStrong data analysis skills with experience using a variety of systems and BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau\n\nStrong knowledge of Microsoft Power products i.e., Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, Power App\n\nProficient in SQL and knowledge of rational database concepts\n\nPrevious programming experience such as VBA, Python\n\nUnderstanding and knowledge of finance processes\n\nPrevious experience with finance transformation or major process improvements\n\nKnowledge of financial modeling concepts is required\n\nCFA/CPA designation is nice to have\n\nPossess strong problem-solving and analytical skills\n\nStrong attention to detail\n\nStrong organizational skills\n\nAbility to handle multiple competing priorities (multi-tasking)\n\nEnjoys working in both team and individual
