It also supports safety procedures, assists with front desk coverage, and collaborates with staff to maintain a secure and professional atmosphere.\nProgram Description: The Pathways for Access to Careers and Employment (PACE) program is a new career services initiative funded by NYC's Human Resources Administration working with adults and youth, ages 18+, receiving public assistance. PACE is designed to improve employment and training outcomes and provides individualized career planning, skills development, credential attainment, employment preparation, job placement and retention services.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide onsite security services to ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for employees, participants, and visitors.\n\nMaintain a professional, courteous, and approachable presence while serving as a visible point of contact for safety and security concerns.\n\nMonitor building activity, common areas, hallways, entrances, and exits to identify and address potential safety concerns.\n\nUtilize effective communication, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques to address difficult, disruptive, or emotionally charged situations.\n\nRespond promptly and appropriately to incidents involving disruptive behavior, verbal altercations, threats, or other safety concerns.\n\nExercise sound judgment and discretion when determining when situations require management intervention, emergency services, or law enforcement assistance.\n\nRespond immediately to emergencies and provide appropriate assistance to employees, participants, and visitors in accordance with established protocols.\n\nAssist with managing participant flow and maintaining an orderly environment during periods of high foot traffic.\n\nEscort unauthorized visitors to appropriate exits and assist with maintaining building access procedures.\n\nCollaborate with management and staff to address safety concerns while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.\n\nFollow established procedures related to emergency response, fire prevention, property patrol, incident reporting, and workplace safety.\n\nDocument and report security incidents accurately and promptly to the appropriate management personnel.\n\nAssist with front desk coverage and visitor management as needed.\n\nDemonstrate professionalism, patience, cultural sensitivity, and respect when interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds.\n\nMaintain appropriate professional boundaries with participants, employees, and visitors.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\n Valid New York State Security Guard Registration Card required.\n\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\n\nMinimum of two years of professional security experience preferred, including experience working in a corporate office, professional business environment, or high-volume customer-facing setting.\n\nStrong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally, respectfully, and effectively with a high volume of participants, employees, and visitors.\n\nDemonstrated knowledge and practical experience utilizing conflict resolution, verbal de-escalation, and crisis intervention techniques.\n\nAbility to remain calm, composed, and professional when responding to challenging behaviors, emotionally charged situations, or emergencies.\n\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening, patience, and the ability to communicate clear instructions.\n\nStrong situational awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to assess and respond appropriately to potential safety concerns.\n\nKnowledge of security operations, emergency response procedures, and incident reporting.\n\nAbility to maintain appropriate boundaries, exercise discretion, and handle sensitive situations with confidentiality.\n\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with management and staff.\n\nExperience working with diverse populations in workforce development, social services, healthcare, education, or other human services settings is a plus.\n\nPay Range: $18.27-$19.23 per hour\n We provide:\nCompetitive wages for high performance\n11 Paid Holidays\nPTO\nTuition reimbursement\nGuided Professional Development Plans\nSummer Fridays\nWeekly Wellness Sessions\nMedical/Vision/ Dental\nEmployer Paid Life Insurance\nEmployer 401k Contributions\nEmployee Referral Bonus\nEmployee Assistance Programs\nCompany Picnics Volunteer Experiences\nAccess to Free Financial Counseling\nInnovation and a culture of continuous improvement are built into the fabric of our company.
