Implements an instructional, therapeutic and skill development program for differentiated learning levels.\n- Conducts formal and informal assessments of all students.\n- Plans and uses appropriate instructional strategies to include the integration of activities, materials and equipment that align with the accommodations as set in the student's Individual Education Plan.\n- Plans and supervises assignments for staff members assisting with students.\n- Establishes and maintains appropriate, open lines of communication with all parties, to include but not limited to students, therapists, school district personnel, parents and co-workers. Attends all required meetings and trainings offered by program.\n- Completes required documentation within timelines, including recording of grades and attendance.\n- Abides by and demonstrates the company's Mission, Vision, and Values, through both behavior and job performance on a day-to-day basis.\n- Modifies lessons to meet different student’s needs in all the courses.\n- Monitors progress of students with disabilities and assesses the need for changes in the accommodations.\n- Requests IEPs and other education records for students who need accommodations.\nAttend RAC meetings and review folders when needed.\n- Maintains a high degree of discipline in the classroom and reinforces employability skills.\n- Adequately prepares for classroom instruction.\n- Provide individual classroom instruction as needed.\n- Documents student progress for inclusion on the Disability CIS Notes.\n- Keeps updated file on students’ progress.\n- Documented students IEP and other documents are placed in students' file.\n- Monitors and documents student progress throughout the students stay on center\n- Creates individualized plans including strategies to meet student’s needs and TABE requirements.\n- Advise staff about required student accommodation plans.\n- Offers yearly training regarding Disability Program.\n- Stablishes or coordinate links with pertinent agencies that offer services for individuals with disabilities.\n- Performs other duties as assigned\n Minimum university degree in special education and current state certification as a special education teacher (teaching license) in the state where the service is provided.\nMinimum of one year of experience working with children with disabilities between the ages of 16 and 24.\nExperience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is preferred.\nUnderstanding and knowledge of the provided curriculum, Unique Learning.\nAbility to use educational technology and integrate it into classes.\nHigh cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diversity of the student population.\nAbility to co-teach and work in a dynamic and constantly changing environment.\nStrong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office.\nPuerto Law 300 Certification.\nPuerto Rico driver's license and good driving record.\nAbility to locate resources to overcome potential barriers to successful program completion.\nSelf-motivation, flexibility, and ability to work in a team.\nBilingualism is a plus.\n All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.\nEquus Workforce Solutions is a leading provider of workforce development services in North America.
