You will work directly with the CEO and business leaders to identify high-impact problems, decide what should be built internally versus externally, and ensure solutions move from idea → production → adoption → measurable business outcome.\nSome of our systems need modernization. Some need stronger ownership and architecture. Others need to be replaced or rebuilt. We would rather be transparent about that upfront.\nWe need someone who enjoys that challenge.\nWhat You Will Own\n1. Technology Execution & Delivery\nYou will create an execution culture where technology commitments translate into shipped outcomes.\nYou will:\nRun Technology on clear weekly priorities with an owner, deadline and measurable outcome for every major initiative.\nEstablish strong engineering execution across product development, integrations, automation, infrastructure and AI.\nTrack commitments through completion - not merely development activity.\nIdentify blockers early and make fast build/buy/outsource decisions.\nHold internal teams and external partners accountable for scope, timelines, quality and business outcomes.\nBuild clear visibility from:\nBusiness Requirement → Development → Production → Adoption → Business Impact\nDevelop engineers and technology managers into stronger owners and future leaders.\nCreate sufficient documentation, architecture standards and ownership so no critical system depends on one employee or vendor.\nSuccess means:\nLeadership should never need to repeatedly ask, “Where is this project stuck and who owns it?”\n2. Business-First Technology Strategy\nTechnology exists to improve business outcomes.\nYou will:\nDeeply understand how Ergode makes money across marketplaces, brands and channels.\nUnderstand marketplace fees, margins, inventory, pricing, advertising, catalogue operations, fulfilment and customer experience.\nOwn the Technology & AI roadmap based on impact on:Revenue\nGross margin\nProductivity\nOperating cost\nSpeed\nCustomer/vendor experience\n\nWork directly with business heads to identify operational bottlenecks.\nChallenge processes that should be eliminated or simplified before automating them.\nTranslate business problems into scalable technology solutions.\nOwn technology economics including cloud, AI/token usage, software licences, development and outsourcing.\nReport technology performance to leadership in business outcomes rather than project activity.\n3. AI, Agents & Intelligent Automation\nAI is not an innovation project at Ergode. It is becoming part of how the company operates.\nYou will:\nIdentify high-volume and high-value manual work suitable for AI or automation.\nBuild and deploy AI agents and GenAI workflows into real production environments.\nDevelop reusable AI architecture rather than disconnected experiments.\nIntegrate AI into areas including:Catalogue and content\nMarketplace listings\nPricing\nInventory\nCustomer support\nSales\nFinance\nHR\nReporting and decision support\n\nBuild with LLM APIs, RAG, agentic workflows, orchestration frameworks and workflow automation.\nEstablish before/after baselines for every major automation.\nMeasure:hours/FTE capacity saved\ncycle-time reduction\ncost reduction\nquality improvement\nrevenue/margin impact\nuser adoption\n\nKill pilots that do not produce value and scale the ones that do.\nEnsure business teams actually adopt what Technology builds.\nWe are not looking for:\nSomeone who has attended AI courses or built demos.\nWe are looking for:\nSomeone who has put AI into production and can show what changed because of it.\n4. E-commerce Platforms & Marketplace Technology\nOur technology must support a complex global marketplace operation.\nYou will own and strengthen:\nMarketplace integrations including Amazon SP-API, Walmart, eBay and other channels.\nCatalogue and listing infrastructure.\nPricing and quantity synchronization.\nOrder processing.\nInventory and warehouse integrations.\nReturns, refunds and reconciliation workflows.\nMarketplace reporting and operational intelligence.\nAPI reliability and monitoring.\nYou will build toward a connected architecture where catalogue, inventory, order and marketplace information flows reliably across systems.\nThe goal is not simply integration.\nThe goal is reliable commerce at scale.\n5. Product & Platform Ownership\nYou will take ownership of Ergode’s core internal technology platforms and ensure they become dependable business systems.\nThis includes:\nevaluating existing architecture,\nidentifying technical debt,\nestablishing clear module ownership,\nimproving reliability and usability,\nprioritising development based on business value,\nand driving adoption after launch.\nTechnology is not complete when code is deployed.\nA feature is complete when the business can reliably use it and the expected outcome is visible.\n6. Data Foundation & Decision Intelligence\nAI is only as strong as the underlying data.\nYou will:\nBuild reliable data flows across business systems.\nEstablish clear sources of truth for critical business information.\nReduce duplicate datasets and manual reconciliation.\nImprove data quality and ownership.\nEnable dashboards and AI systems to consume trustworthy business data.\nBuild APIs and integration layers that allow new agents and applications to be deployed quickly.\n7. Architecture, Cloud & Engineering Quality\nYou should be technically strong enough to challenge architecture and engineering decisions yourself.\nYou will:\nReview architecture for scalability, reliability, maintainability, security and cost.\nEstablish coding, testing, documentation and deployment standards.\nStrengthen CI/CD and monitoring.\nReview estimates rather than blindly accepting them.\nPrototype when speed requires it.\nMake pragmatic technology choices rather than over-engineering.\nWe expect a leader who can move comfortably between a CEO conversation about ROI and an engineering conversation about architecture.\n8. Security, Reliability & AI Governance\nYou will own the reliability and security of Ergode’s technology environment.\nResponsibilities include:\nCloud and infrastructure reliability\nMonitoring and uptime\nIncident management\nRoot-cause analysis\nBackups and disaster recovery\nIdentity and access management\nSSO\nEndpoint/device security\nData protection\nYou will also establish practical AI governance covering:\nwhich company information can be shared with which AI systems,\npermissions available to AI agents,\nhuman review requirements for critical decisions,\nauditability,\nand acceptable AI use.\nCompliance should appropriately address DPDP and relevant international privacy/security requirements.\n9.
