At Ericsson Research, we extensively use in-house simulator tools with varying levels of details for this purpose. To enable faster simulations for use cases that need less detailed models of radio-related layers, we constantly need to re-evaluate simulator models and produce new models with slightly less accuracy, but faster runtime.\nThe goal of the master thesis is to investigate a selected set of our radio models and propose and evaluate simplified versions that provide reasonable accuracy and a higher execution speed. Such models could include propagation, layer 1 receptions, quality measurement or transmission error models.\nThe student is encouraged to influence the direction of the master thesis according to interest.\nWhat you will do:\nWith the help of coding agents, understand existing simulator models\nPropose simplified mathematical models of these features\nImplement the proposed models in the simulator\nEvaluate the accuracy and execution of the new models compared to existing models\nDocument and present findings\nThe skills you bring:\nYou like to work in an environment where you co-operate closely with your team colleagues, together striving to fulfil common targets.\nYou like to communicate with people and find it easy to explain your findings and knowledge to others.\nYou have very strong analytical skills and are eager to find innovative solutions to problems.\nYou should have a sound understanding of digital and wireless communications with an interest in algorithm development and testing.\nYou have strong programming skills in Java, experience of working with AI coding agents, and excellent mathematical knowledge.\nYou are an MSc student in electrical engineering, computer science or related fields.\nWhen applying, please include a transcript of records showing your completed courses and grades.\nWhy join Ericsson?
