As a Consulting Associate, Engineer, you will play a key role in collecting and analyzing environmental data, supporting remediation projects, and helping clients navigate complex regulatory requirements. Your work will directly contribute to protecting human health, restoring impacted environments, and delivering sustainable outcomes for communities and businesses.\nWhat Your Impact Is\nIn this role, you will support diverse environmental projects through field investigations, data collection, technical analysis, regulatory reporting, and remediation oversight. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, regulators, and clients while developing valuable consulting and technical skills across the full spectrum of ERM's environmental services. Your contributions will help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.\nWhat You'll Bring\nRequired\nBS in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or environmental engineering required, or equivalent experience.\nRecent graduate to 1 year of experience, including willingness/interest in field assignments.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nEffective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports required.\nAbility to succeed in a consulting pace, handling multiple project assignments and maintaining flexibility while meeting strict deadlines.\nDetail-oriented with mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.\nStrong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.\nDriver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.\nAbility to travel up to 75% regionally with multiple overnight stays; approximately 25% office-based work.\nThis position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. \nPreferred\nEnvironmental field work experience.\n40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct field work, including soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water sampling, aquifer testing, drilling oversight and soil logging, soil boring and monitoring well installation, well development, purging and sampling, and construction oversight.\nCoordinate and direct drilling, surveying, and laboratory services.\nProvide construction oversight on environmental remediation projects, and operations and maintenance of environmental remediation systems.\nCompile and evaluate soil, groundwater, air, sediment and other environmental data.\nAssist in preparation of reports for submittal to regulatory agencies.\nReview groundwater chemistry data and prepare figures/exhibits to support regulatory reporting.\nPerform Phase I and II environmental site assessments to support property transfer transactions.\nAssist in ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.\nWork within quality, budget, schedule expectations, and scope-specific assignments.\nCommunicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities.\nWho We Are: \nAs the largest global pure play sustainability consultancy, we partner with the world’s leading organizations, creating innovative solutions to sustainability challenges and unlocking commercial opportunities that meet the needs of today while preserving opportunity for future generations.\nAt ERM we know that creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment is an essential part of making our company a great place to build a career.
