This role is intended to be based in one of ERM’s main offices in the Mountain and Pacific Business Unit, with preference for Irvine, Seattle, Portland, or Walnut Creek within a hybrid and flexible working environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead client relationship development, sales, and delivery of the full spectrum of ERM’s consulting services, with particular emphasis on growing Sustainable Operations offerings.\n\nDevelop and implement EHS compliance and risk management systems that help clients strengthen governance, improve performance, and manage regulatory obligations.\n\nAdvise clients on data management, reporting, and disclosure support related to EHS performance.\n\nDevelop commercial strategies to pursue and win new business opportunities that drive revenue growth with target clients aligned to ERM’s global strategy.\n\nListen carefully to client needs and co-develop practical, innovative solutions that deliver long-term value.\n\nBuild, grow, and lead a high-performing team, mentoring consultants and helping emerging leaders expand their responsibilities and impact.\n\nDrive service innovation and collaboration across ERM service lines and participate actively in local and regional commercial initiatives.\n\nExpand the visibility of ERM’s Sustainable Operations services through thought leadership, industry engagement, and strategic partnerships.\n\nBusiness Leadership\nDrive profitable growth by expanding key client relationships and winning new work across the Sustainable Operations portfolio.\n\nShape commercial strategy in alignment with ERM’s focus on the world’s leading organizations and priority sectors.\n\nContribute to the strategic direction of the business as an equity Partner and visible leader within the firm.\n\nStrengthen ERM’s market position by extending client reach, industry relationships, and brand visibility in environmental compliance.\n\nTechnical Leadership\nProvide strategic and technical leadership in environmental compliance, operational risk, and EHS performance improvement.\n\nDevelop and deploy innovative compliance and risk management solutions tailored to complex regulatory environments.\n\nGuide clients in integrating sustainability objectives with compliance, biodiversity, and resource management requirements.\n\nDeliver solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce risk exposure, and support safe, sustainable, and compliant performance.\n\nPeople Leadership\nBuild and lead a high-performing consulting team, creating an environment of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.\n\nRecruit, mentor, and develop the next generation of leaders within Sustainable Operations.\n\nIdentify emerging talent and provide stretch opportunities that support career progression and succession development.\n\nFoster a culture that reflects ERM’s commitment to safety, sustainability, inclusion, and high-quality client service.\n\nQualifications\n15+ years of relevant experience in EHS compliance, environmental compliance, and risk management.\n\nExecutive-level consulting or corporate leadership experience with a strong track record of business development and client growth.\n\nDemonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted client relationships.\n\nBroad solutions experience spanning compliance, reporting, and operational risk.\n\nStrong communicator, collaborator, and people leader with the ability to mentor and grow high-performing teams.\n\nEstablished client network or market credibility in sectors such as technology, energy, or other industrial markets is preferred.\n\nSuccess Factors\nEntrepreneurial mindset with the vision to grow a practice and expand market impact.\n\nStrong executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.\n\nCredibility in environmental compliance with an integrated view of sustainability and operational performance.\n\nCommercial acumen, strategic thinking, and a collaborative approach to leadership.\n\nPassion for developing people, advancing innovation, and contributing to ERM’s long-term success as a Partner.\n\nFor the Consulting Partner, EHS & Sustainable Operations position, the anticipated annual base pay is $171,000 - $217,000(USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range.
