As a Consulting Senior Associate, Geology based in Charlotte, NC, you’ll play a critical role in investigating and remediating contaminated sites, ensuring compliance, and supporting sustainable solutions for clients across diverse industries.\nWhat Your Impact Is\nContribute to projects that protect communities and ecosystems.\nApply cutting-edge investigation and remediation technologies.\nBuild foundational experience toward professional registration.\nSupport ERM’s mission to create a more sustainable world.\nWhat You'll Bring\nRequired:\nBachelor’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, environmental science, or related discipline (Master’s a plus).\nGPA of 3.0 or higher or equivalent experience.\n1+ years of relevant experience.\nWillingness to perform field work (standing/walking full days).\nStrong commitment to safety and adherence to Health & Safety protocols.\nExcellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively.\nDriver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.\nAbility to lift at least 40 pounds.\nThis position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.\nPreferred:\n40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.\nGIT or EIT certification.\nExperience with technical data recording and report writing.\nLocal candidates preferred; regional candidates considered.\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct field investigations: soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, and indoor air sampling.\nOversee drilling, soil logging, and installation of monitoring wells.\nPerform aquifer testing, well development, and remedial system operations.\nAssist with groundwater and wastewater system performance monitoring.\nSupport Phase I and II environmental assessments for property transactions.\nCompile and analyze data; assist in preparing technical reports.\nPrepare compliance work plans, permits, and reports for air quality, hazardous waste, stormwater, and wastewater.\nEnsure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.\nCommunicate effectively with subcontractors, regulators, tenants, and clients during field activities.\nWho We Are:\nAs the largest global pure play sustainability consultancy, we partner with the world’s leading organizations, creating innovative solutions to sustainability challenges and unlocking commercial opportunities that meet the needs of today while preserving opportunity for future generations.\nAt ERM we know that creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment is an essential part of making our company a great place to build a career.
