Successful candidates must be flexible and responsive to a challenging and changing work environment where schedules, site locations, and tasks fluctuate according to the needs of the project. The role of a field biologist requires both technical skills and strong organizational and communication skills. This is a part-time (18 hours/ week), limited-term role with a duration of 1 year and the possibility of renewal. Assignments will, on average, have a duration of 2 days per week.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nField biologist position to conduct post-construction mortality monitoring, which includes monitoring for bird mortality, search efficiency trials, and carcass persistence trials.\nElectronic data collection.\nHandheld and sub-meter accurate GPS data collection.\nDaily reporting and survey report compilation.\nOther duties as assigned or required.\nCompliance with ERM’s rigorous safety program.\nREQUIREMENTS:\nBachelor's degree in environmental science, Biology, or related field preferred.\nA minimum of 2+ years of Avian experience, ideally with PCMM experience.\nGeneral bird identification skills required.\nAbility to work safely outdoors in variable weather conditions and on challenging terrain.\nWorking knowledge of sub-meter accuracy GPS technologies and map interpretation skills (e.g., NWI, USGS, aerial photography).\nMust have a strong attention to detail in documentation of work.\nMust have strong organizational and communication skills.\nDesire to work in the field for an extended period and maintain a positive attitude.\nWillingness and ability to travel with overnight stays possible.\nDemonstrated independent and effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.\nPossess a valid driver’s license.\nFluency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.\nWho We Are:\nAs the largest global pure play sustainability consultancy, we partner with the world’s leading organizations, creating innovative solutions to sustainability challenges and unlocking commercial opportunities that meet the needs of today while preserving opportunity for future generations.\nAt ERM we know that creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment is an essential part of making our company a great place to build a career.
