The primary focus of this role is promoting safe construction practices and monitoring contractor compliance with project health and safety requirements. Secondary responsibilities include supporting environmental compliance during construction, including stormwater management, erosion and sediment controls, chemical storage, spill prevention, waste management, and implementation of applicable environmental requirements. The successful candidate will conduct routine field observations and inspections, document findings, identify potential compliance concerns, and communicate observations to the client's designated representative. This position does not have direct responsibility for contractor management or implementation of corrective actions but serves as a key resource for identifying risks and supporting compliance throughout project delivery. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), limited-term role for a duration of 6 months, extendable.\nResponsibilities\nConduct routine site inspections and field observations of construction activities.\nMonitor contractor compliance with project safety requirements and applicable regulations.\nParticipate in daily construction coordination and pre-task planning meetings as needed.\nReview Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), pre-task plans, and other safety-related documentation.\nIdentify unsafe conditions and behaviors and communicate observations to the client representative.\nDocument safety observations, trends, concerns, and areas for improvement.\nSupport incident reviews, fact gathering, and documentation efforts.\nMaintain project safety records and inspection documentation.\nPrepare routine safety observation and compliance reports.\nConduct routine inspections to verify compliance with environmental requirements applicable to construction activities.\nMonitor construction stormwater controls, erosion and sediment control measures, and site housekeeping practices.\nVerify implementation and maintenance of best management practices (BMPs).\nMonitor chemical storage, fuel storage, spill prevention measures, and hazardous material management practices.\nObserve waste management activities and identify potential compliance concerns.\nDocument environmental observations and communicate compliance concerns to the client representative.\nMaintain records of environmental inspections, observations, and corrective action status provided by others.\nSupport environmental incident documentation and reporting efforts as directed by the client representative.\nVerify implementation of environmental permit and approval requirements applicable to construction activities.\nMaintain inspection logs, field notes, and compliance documentation.\nTrack observed safety and environmental issues through established project reporting processes.\nPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly compliance summaries as required.\nEscalate significant safety or environmental concerns to the client representative.\nSupport audits and compliance reviews by providing project documentation and field observations.\nRequirements\nBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.\n5+ years of experience supporting construction safety, environmental compliance, or EHS programs on large construction projects.\nExperience conducting field inspections and compliance observations.\nWorking knowledge of OSHA construction standards.\nFamiliarity with construction stormwater management, erosion and sediment controls, and environmental compliance requirements during construction.\nStrong written communication and documentation skills.\nAbility to work independently in an active construction environment.\nPreferred\nData center, mission-critical, industrial, or large commercial construction experience.\nCHST, ASP, CSP, or comparable safety certification.\nCPESC, CESSWI, or related environmental certification.\nExperience with SWPPP inspections and stormwater compliance programs.\nExperience supporting owner-representative or embedded compliance programs.\nFor the HSE Owners Advisor position, the anticipated annual base pay is$88,800-$108,000 (USD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range.
