Your leadership will directly influence project outcomes-from risk assessment and remedy selection through regulatory strategy and site closure-across a range of industrial and commercial settings throughout New England and select U.S. and international locations.\nWhat Your Impact Is\nLead and deliver moderate to complex environmental investigation and remediation projects\nServe as a key technical and project management interface between ERM, clients, regulators, and subcontractors\nApply and advance innovative, sustainable site investigation and remediation technologies\nMentor junior staff and contribute to ERM’s technical excellence and collaborative culture\nSupport business growth through proposal development, client engagement, and repeat work\nWhat You’ll Bring\nYou are a technically strong consultant with proven project management experience and the confidence to lead multidisciplinary teams. You balance field knowledge with strategic thinking, communicate effectively with clients and regulators, and take ownership of project delivery, safety, and quality.\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, or a closely related discipline\n 4+ years of experience (5-8 years preferred) with progressive responsibility on environmental site investigation and remediation projects\nDemonstrated experience working under CERCLA, RCRA, and state regulatory programs\nStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to produce high-quality technical reports (writing sample may be requested)\nEnvironmental field experience including soil, groundwater, and vapor investigations\n40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification\nStrong commitment to health, safety, and risk management\nValid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites\nPreferred\nMaster’s degree in Engineering, Geology, or related field\nProfessional licensure (PE or PG) or ability to obtain licensure in the near future\nExperience with vapor intrusion assessment and mitigation, LNAPL/DNAPL investigations, and high-resolution site characterization tools\nFamiliarity with EQuIS or other environmental data management platforms\nKey Responsibilities\nManage and execute site investigation and remediation projects involving soil, groundwater, sediment, and vapor intrusion, including projects with moderate to complex technical and regulatory challenges\nPlan, coordinate, and oversee field programs including sampling, drilling, well installation, remediation system implementation, and O&M\nDevelop and review work plans, technical reports, conceptual site models, scopes of work, schedules, cost estimates, and health & safety plans\nInterpret environmental data, conduct QA/QC evaluations, identify data gaps, and guide technical decision-making\nEvaluate remedial alternatives and support clients in developing and negotiating cost-effective closure strategies with regulatory agencies\nDelegate work effectively, mentor junior staff, and engage ERM subject-matter experts to deliver maximum client value\nPrepare proposals and actively participate in business development and client relationship management\nBuild strong, collaborative relationships with ERM colleagues, clients, regulators, and subcontractors\nWhy ERM\nERM is a global leader in environmental consulting, recognized for technical excellence, professional integrity, and career development. Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range.
