The role combines strong financial understanding with business partnering, helping project teams manage projects successfully from a financial and commercial perspective.\nThe FPP does not simply process transactions. Instead, the FPP provides financial insight, guidance and challenge, while working closely with Project Managers, Finance Operations and other teams to ensure projects are financially well managed and compliant with ERM processes.\nWhat You Will Do\nFinance Business Partnering\nAct as a key Finance contact and trusted partner for Project Managers and Project Directors.\nSupport project teams in understanding the financial performance of their projects.\nProvide practical advice on project financial management and ERM Finance processes.\nProactively identify financial risks and discuss appropriate actions with Project Managers.\nChallenge project teams constructively where financial performance or project setup requires attention.\nProject Financial Management\nMonitor project financial performance, including revenue, costs, profitability, WIP, AR and project forecasts.\nSupport Project Managers with project reviews and financial planning.\nReview project financial data and identify unusual developments, risks or opportunities.\nSupport appropriate project setup, maintenance and closure throughout the project lifecycle.\nHelp ensure project budgets and financial structures are aligned with contractual arrangements.\nBilling & O2C\nPartner with Project Managers and centralized operational teams to support timely and accurate billing.\nHelp resolve complex billing and project-related issues.\nSupport teams in understanding contractual billing requirements, including client-specific requirements.\nMonitor outstanding financial matters and support timely resolution of issues affecting invoicing, cash collection or project closure.\nAct as an escalation and coordination point for more complex O2C topics.\nGovernance & Compliance\nSupport compliance with ERM policies, contractual requirements and local German requirements.\nEnsure appropriate financial documentation and audit trails are maintained.\nWork closely with relevant teams such as Tax, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Pricing, Revenue, Finance Operations and other specialist teams where required.\nSupport consistent global processes while recognizing situations where German legal, tax or business requirements require specific treatment.\nTransformation & Continuous Improvement\nSupport the implementation and continuous improvement of ERM’s new global O2C model.\nIdentify process gaps and opportunities for simplification or automation.\nHelp Project Managers adopt new Finance processes, systems and ways of working.\nShare feedback from the German business with regional and global process teams.\nContribute to training, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across the Finance community.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nDegree or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline.\nRelevant experience in project finance, project controlling, commercial finance or financial business partnering.\nStrong understanding of project financial management and the Order-to-Cash lifecycle.\nAbility to interpret financial information and translate it into clear, practical advice for non-finance colleagues.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nConfidence to challenge and influence stakeholders constructively.\nStrong communication skills and a collaborative working style.\nAbility to prioritize effectively and work in a changing, international environment.\nGood understanding of financial controls and compliance requirements.\nExperience with ERP/project management and reporting systems is an advantage.\nFluent German and strong English skills.\n⠀\nERM is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive, it’s an essential part of what makes ERM a great place to build a career and helps us create better solutions for our clients.\nWe welcome talent from all backgrounds and provide equal opportunities for every candidate.
