As a fully competent engineer, the Design role involves applying well-established expertise to complete tasks and projects with minimal supervision. This role includes collaboration with cross-functional teams and occasional mentoring of less experienced engineers. The Design Engineer contributes to product performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction while ensuring compliance with industry standards.\nThis role will be onsite in Dyersburg, TN. Relocation Assistance is available.\nResponsibilities\nIndependently design and develop transformers and related components, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CSA) and customer specifications.\nConduct engineering analyses to optimize product performance, cost, and efficiency.\nPerform detailed failure analysis on design-related issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality and reliability.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, sales, and customer service to ensure successful integration of designs into production.\nParticipate in design reviews to provide technical input and ensure that designs meet project and customer requirements.\nPrepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.\nStay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure product designs remain competitive and compliant.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives, promoting innovation and efficiency in the design process.\nMentor junior engineers and provide guidance as needed, though leadership is not a primary focus of this role.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.\nMore than 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on transformer or related product design. \nProficiency with design and analysis tools, including mechanical and thermal analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, FEA).\nAbility to interact with, maintain, and update ERP system data related to engineering processes. \nFamiliarity with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CSA) and regulatory requirements (e.g. DOE) for transformers and related components.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working in cross-functional teams.\nHighly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.\nExperience conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions for design-related issues.\nLet’s Build the Future Together\nAt ERMCO, your ideas matter, your growth is supported, and your impact is real.
