As an intermediate designer, the Mechanical Designer is capable of independent work, has developed basic technical skills, and is experienced in engineering practices. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and supports the execution of design tasks while ensuring compliance with industry standards.\nThis role will be onsite in Dyersburg, TN. Relocation Assistance is available.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and develop transformer related enclosures, assemblies, and related components under the guidance of more experienced engineers, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, UL, IEC, CSA).\nContribute to failure analysis efforts by collecting data and assisting in identifying potential causes under supervision.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, sales, and customer service to ensure successful integration of designs into production.\nPrepare and maintain basic engineering documentation, including design notes, reports, and test results, under close supervision.\nParticipate in design reviews and contribute to discussions by providing data and technical support.\nLearn and stay informed on industry trends and regulatory requirements to support compliant designs.\nSupport continuous improvement efforts by participating in process and product improvements as directed.\nQualifications\nAssociate’s degree in technical field or related technical certification\n2-3 years of experience in drafting or mechanical design, with a focus on transformer or related product design\nProficiency with basic design and analysis tools, such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks (coursework or internship experience acceptable).\nFamiliarity with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, UL, IEC, CSA) and regulatory requirements (e.g. DOE) for transformers or components.\nStrong desire to learn and develop technical skills in transformer or related product design.\nEffective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.\nOrganized, with the ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines.\nApplicants with hands-on transformer experience and/or product knowledge with technical potential may be considered\nLet’s Build the Future Together\nAt ERMCO, your ideas matter, your growth is supported, and your impact is real.
