This role is crucial in ensuring that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely, meeting both quality standards and production targets. This person has direct responsibility for the front-line production in the plant. The Department Supervisor has responsibility for all three shifts.\nThis role is located on-site in Celina, TN. Relocation assistance is available.\nResponsibilities\nLead and develop high-performing production teams focused on safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and continuous improvement.\nPlan and execute the production schedule while effectively directing and allocating the hourly workforce.\nCommunicate daily production plans, priorities, targets, and performance expectations to employees.\nPrioritize and manage shift workload to meet company, department, production, and customer objectives.\nMaintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and safe operating practices.\nParticipate in safety walks and safety meetings and hold employees accountable for following established safety requirements.\nEnsure workplace incidents are appropriately reported and escalated within required timelines.\nServe as the frontline point of contact for hourly employee questions, concerns, and day-to-day operational needs.\nCoach employees and address performance, attendance, and conduct concerns consistently and in accordance with company policies, partnering with Human Resources and the General Manager as appropriate.\nReview and approve employee timekeeping and timesheets accurately and timely.\nBuild strong working relationships across departments and shifts to support effective communication and operational continuity.\nPromote a positive, professional, respectful, and safe workplace culture.\nDrive 5S and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production area.\nSupport initiatives to improve operational effectiveness, productivity, capacity, quality, and overall performance.\nEnsure appropriate procedures, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving techniques are consistently utilized.\nIdentify opportunities for process improvement and support implementation of corrective and preventive actions.\nCoach and develop employees to strengthen individual capabilities and overall team performance.\nParticipate in employee performance reviews and development discussions.\nDemonstrate a high level of professionalism, integrity, accountability, communication, and leadership.\nAttend and actively participate in operational, safety, production, and leadership meetings as required.\nPerform other duties as assigned to support production and business objectives.\nQualifications\n3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nMinimum of 3 years of supervisory or frontline leadership experience.\nDemonstrated ability to lead, coach, develop, and hold hourly employees accountable.\nStrong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.\nAbility to effectively prioritize and lead in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and shifts.\nStrong conflict resolution and employee performance management skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.\nDemonstrated professionalism, integrity, accountability, and commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma.\nExperience with capacity planning and operational improvement initiatives.\nExperience in transformer or electrical equipment manufacturing.\nDry-type transformer experience preferred but not required.\nLet’s Build the Future Together At ERMCO, your ideas matter, your growth is supported, and your impact is real.
