Furthermore, the role requires a reliable, safety-conscious employee who is comfortable using computer systems for tracking and labeling, and capable of handling various general maintenance and support duties across the facility.\nPRODUCT FABRICATING & ORDER PICKING\nPick and produce standard products and parts for orders.\nFabricate and assemble products of several different product lines. \nDevelop technical knowledge of the product line to proficiently fabricate products.\nLearn and understand the company system to process and prioritize orders.\nMACHINE OPERATIONS\nBecome skilled in operating most machines in our warehouse.\nMaster the use of glass and rod-cutting machines for the fabrication of standard products.\nIntermittently, machine product components of several product lines.\nUse and understand vernier calipers and other measuring tools.\nPACKAGING & SHIPPING\nAssist with Packing and Shipping as needed.\nProficient in using shipping/labeling systems for domestic and export shipments.\nFollow standardized methods for properly packing items.\nBuild prefabricated cardboard boxes and crates.\nPack up Truck shipments using crates, pallets, or prefabricated crates.\nCalculate weights and shipping costs for prepaid or pre-quoted customer shipments.\nOccasionally lift products/packages weighing ~50 lbs.\nMACHINE AND GENERAL MAINTENANCE\nAssist with maintaining machinery on a regular periodic basis and follow monthly maintenance schedules.\nGeneral warehouse maintenance, including (but not limited to) sweeping floors, emptying warehouse garbage, and discarding pallets.\nINVENTORY CONTROL\nAssist with maintaining the organization of inventory and supplies in shop.\nPerform inventory control counts.\nQUALITY CONTROL / SAFETY\nLearn and understand warehouse quality control procedures and product traceability procedures.\nAdhere to a high standard of producing a quality product and service to our customers.\nComply with all safety requirements presented by the company.\nCOMPUTER\nHave reasonably good keyboarding skills to access data into our computer systems.\nBecome proficient using labeling programs, labeling printers, and the pin stamper.\nProficiently navigate inventory software.\nBecome proficient with our Shipping System.\nOTHER GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES\nHandling and working with products from John C. Ernst LLC, and GPI Meters\nTraining for other positions as needed in a backup capacity.\nPrint open order reports daily and track orders at the end of the day. \nMeet misc. maintenance needs around the entire office and warehouse when arise.\nOperate walk-behind forklifts.\nOccasionally interact with customers who come for product, pick-ups or repairs.\nPerform miscellaneous duties deemed necessary by management.\nRequired Education and Experience\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nMinimum one year of relevant work experience\nAbility to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English is required.\nStrong interpersonal skills with listening, consultative and problem-solving skills. \nAbility to handle complex projects and tasks independently within established standards. \nAbility to handle multiple responsibilities at a time and be self-motivated and proactive. \nFunction and thrive in a team environment with an appreciation of aggressive goals.\nPhysical and Technical Environment\nMust be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office and manufacturing environment. \nAbility to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator. \nExposure to varying environments, changing deadlines, strict time constraints.\nFrequent lifting, occasionally up to 100 lbs.\nThis position may require occasional overtime depending on business needs. Candidates should be prepared to work additional hours when necessary.\nCOMPENSATION & REVIEWS\nHourly Position.
