This role is critical to realizing the firm’s agentic AI aspiration, ensuring agents can collaborate, delegate, reason, and act reliably across complex workflows while meeting enterprise standards for security, governance, observability, and lifecycle management.\nEssential Functions of the Job:\n. Orchestration Architecture & Patterns\nDefine and implement orchestration patterns for agentic systems, including:\nPlanner-executor, supervisor-worker, hierarchical and swarm-based agent models\n\nStateful vs stateless orchestration, synchronous vs event-driven flows\nDesign orchestration layers that manage agent sequencing, routing, retries, and failover in multi-step workflows.\nAgent-to-Agent Interoperability\nBuild frameworks enabling agent-to-agent communication, collaboration, and task delegation across heterogeneous agents.\nDefine common interaction contracts (schemas, metadata, reasoning traces, tool invocation protocols).\nEnable cross-agent context passing, memory sharing, and coordination without tight coupling.\nSDKs & Frameworks for Orchestration\nHands-on experience with leading orchestration SDKs, such as:\nMicrosoft Semantic Kernel and similar agent orchestration\nAzure AI Foundry / agent SDKs where relevant to orchestration flows\nEvaluate, extend, or build custom orchestration frameworks where off-the-shelf abstractions fall short.\nOff-the-Shelf Orchestrators & Platforms\nAssess and integrate enterprise orchestration platforms (e.g., Moveworks, comparable agentic automation platforms) where appropriate.\nDefine clear build vs buy decision criteria for orchestrators based on complexity, governance, extensibility, and cost.\nMCP & Tooling Integration\nIntegrate orchestrators with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, tool registries, and enterprise APIs.\nStandardize how agents discover, invoke, and chain tools via MCP or equivalent mechanisms.\nRuntime Governance, Observability & Safety\nEmbed runtime controls into orchestration:\nGuardrails, policy enforcement, approval checkpoints, and human-in-the-loop patterns\nImplement observability across agent workflows:\nTracing, step-level logging, reasoning capture, latency and cost metrics\nAlign orchestration with enterprise governance and lifecycle controls.\nLeadership & Enablement\nAct as the technical authority for agentic orchestration.\nCoach engineers and architects on orchestration-first agent design.\nPartner with AI governance, security, platform, and business leads.\nKnowledge and Skills Requirements:\nCore Technical Expertise\nDeep understanding of agentic architectures and orchestration patterns.\nStrong hands-on experience building multi-agent workflows end to end.\nProven experience with orchestration SDKs (Semantic Kernel or equivalent)\nExperience integrating off-the-shelf agentic platforms (e.g., Moveworks or peer tools).\nIntegration & Platform Engineering\nAPI-first design mindset; experience orchestrating across microservices and tools.\nFamiliarity with MCP servers, tool calling protocols, and agent tool registries.\nExperience with event-driven and async orchestration patterns.\nEnterprise Readiness\nStrong appreciation of governance, security, and compliance in AI systems.\nAbility to design orchestration that scales across teams, domains, and use cases.\nComfort working with ambiguity and shaping standards where none exist.\nJob Requirements:\nEducation:\nA degree in Computer Science / Engineering or a related discipline; or equivalent work experience\nExperience:\n10+ years in a Global IT environment working with multiple disciplines to deliver projects in line with customer needs\n3+ Years Global delivery or transformation preferably in large scale infrastructure programs\n3+ Years in a global operations environment\nCertification Requirements:\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI 102)\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ 305)\nEnterprise architecture or distributed systems certifications (e.g., TOGAF).\nEY | Building a better working world\nEY is building a better working world by creating new value for clients, people, society and the planet, while building trust in capital markets.\nEnabled by data, AI and advanced technology, EY teams help clients shape the future with confidence and develop answers for the most pressing issues of today and tomorrow.\nEY teams work across a full spectrum of services in assurance, consulting, tax, strategy and transactions.
